    Seriously wtf!

I thought G-Love was working out pretty well here...then they just go and throw him out the door and sign Glenn Robinson?! Why is this happening so damn late in the season?! This is crap, and I'm bitter!

Since the Spurs have a bunch of good guys, they believe in the theory that they can have one anti-Spur and it won't hurt chemistry at all. It worked with Stephen Jackson and I think it can work here too.

Glenn Robinson is someone who has had it easy his whole basketball life. He was a superstar at Purdue, was the first overall draft pick and then signed the biggest contract in the history of the NBA for a rookie. Everything he's ever accomplished in basketball has been easy.

Now that he's been out of the league for a while, he might have a different outlook. Perhaps he'll realize that he has to put in the work and listen to the coaches or else he'll find himself back out of basketball. Fear is a good motivation for a lot of people.

Plus, the guy just turned 32 years old. If he turns it around now, he has plenty of good years left. He might even get one more big pay day.

Glenn Robinson should be motivated. He should come in with something to prove.

And if he doesn't, you waive him when Devin and Tim return.

    Simple.

I loved Dion! That's why I'm bitter about this! I know it's about winning so how do we know Glenn is gonna fit? G-Love was already fitting in well and they want to risk it on the chance that Glenn will with only 9 games left. Again WTF

At one time, Glenn Robinson had the best mid-range game of anyone in the NBA. At one time...

G-Love was pretty much a G-Scrub. I liked how he played in his first game as a Spur ... but it was downhill after that.

he played in 7 games! Only getting double digit minutes 4 out of 7 games. He wasn't played such huge minutes to even become a scrub. When he was in he hustled and did wanted him to.

Sorry I'm just not liking this deal right now.

Dropping "G-Love" is an easy choice if Robinson has anything left in the tank.

I like it, I like alot, and let me tell you why...

First of all, TimVP and Kori are gonna hate him because he plays no D...Get past that and this guy is a huge pick for this team if he is in shape....

But this guy can flat out score, he can score under pressure, he can score without warming up...he's got one of the best midrange J's in NBA history...

The Spurs did not pick this guy up for his defense...and if they even think they can make him a defender they are on crack...

I have to hope the Spurs realize this guy isn't going to help on D and the reason for his signing is to be a scoring spark off the bench...and he will ing jam in that role IMO. Just the fact the Spurs considered this guy to me signals a philosophical change for the Spurs and a realization that in fact sometimes they need offense...

Don't expect this guy to challenge for a starting spot or even a regular bench role and you won't be disppointed. The way I envision this guy being used is like Vinnie Johnson was used on the Pistons...instant offense, 5-6 buckets in a row in a heated 3rd quarter..

This guy will will pull bodies off of Duncan, he will open up the paint for Parker and Manu to dominate...and he's not a bad passer either...he's also pretty good at stealing the ball for a bigman....and he's can hit 3's...and he's not a choker at all.

On paper this is a freaking awesome pick up and this is a huge boost to our le hopes...

If anyone needs a refresher of what Robinson can do...think about how effective he was in the 3rd and 4th quarters of all those losses against the Bucks...

And while he is no angel...he isn't the ball hog he has been made out to be...playing with AI and Cassell and Ray Allen balls can get kind of scarce...he's also a good passer...

This is a huge pick up for the Spurs if Robinson is in shape and can figure out the offense and defense in time...

But that midrange J and that high PCT scoring ability is as good as any SF in the NBA...

And when Robinson gets hot...he gets ing red hot...

There is plenty of reason to be excited about this guy...as long as you aren't expecting D.

I didn't think Glover would make it to the Post-season roster. It didn't help him much in Denver, when Pop gave him a lot floor time.

Agreed, Glover showed mediocre D and an offense that made Ron Mercers look all star like.

I gotta say, I aint haitin this.

There is one thing Glenn can do, is instant O.

BTW, if a guy is bad on D, who else would make a guy not look bad, than Pop's defensive system and Tim Duncan and Rasho Nesterovic backing him up.

Definately gives you an alternative to Barry and Brown on the nights they are off,

or Ginobili and Robinson if you need quick O.

Robinson definately has a nice jumper. Its his mentality that worries me.

But, if RC and Pop think hes alright, then thats good enough in my book.

Who wouldve thought, I thought he was done for the year PHYSICALLY.

Look Spur fans need to realize that some of our les have been won because of guys that weren't boyscouts...Mario Elie was no boyscout and neither was Jack...at the same time they weren't total lowlifes...I think Robinson is about in that same mold...maybe a little bit worse...but he's no Qynel Woods...he's not even a Rasheed Wallace.

But if you need a guy to put the team on his back and carry them for a quarter or a half a quarter...this guy can do it...and he can do it with regularity...and the opposing team will be having having a fit over him...he's a great scorer...well he was anyway.

He's not a ballhog...he can and will pass...and this guy is a fearless shooter...

When the Spurs were in the prime of the Duncan Robinsoin era...when the Lakers were in the prime of the Kobe Shaq era...this guy owned both ing teams...and neither of them had a guy who could stop him when he was hot...

Whottt your dead on, but I think they look at it like this.

They dont want him for his D, they want him for offense, but Glenn probobly knows he cant just off on D, hes gotta give EFFORT.

Thats what I think you confuse Whottt, Pop doesn't bench someone for BAD D, he benches them for not giving EFFORT on D.

if Robinson gives effort on D, and shoots with any kind of decency, hes gonna be off the bench immediately, and IMO, take some minutes from Barry or Bowen.

    exactly right.

Its not bad to have a guy with TUDE, as long as the tude is not team detrimental.

I dont think Robinson is a bad guy, once again, domestic battery, who knows what happened, we werent there so Im not gonna judge.

I like this signing, if and only if, he does what he did in Milwaukee and Philly, shoot the ball WELL.

Jerome Kersey was a crafty defensive veteran witha good baseline jump shot.

Think of a player on the team that STARTS thats already like that.

Just be prepared to about his D..if George Karl and Larry Brown couldn't do it then Pop isn't going to succeed either...

I don't envision this guy to have a regular spot in the rotation...I envision this guys role being like that of Steve Kerr in our last le run...a guy who comes out of nowhere and puts an assload of points on the board...because that is what Robinson can do...

If you guys want another team that plays great D and chokes on offense...well you can certainly have that and I am not willing to bet against Pop giving it to you...but sometimes you need offense...

Just start ing about Robinson's D now...because he sucks on D...

    ^^^ Exactly.

One thing that DOES bother me, is there is a reason New Orleans didn't want him.

The Hornets, I mean, thats a little worrisome.

name me the defensive big men that he played with.

BTW, I dont think Robinson was in Philly when Larry was there.

I think he was there last year, and it was Chris FOrd, and others.
