Taylor Swift is more pop than country. When she gets played on the pop radio stations, the music is sped up and the country sound/beat isn't really heard that much. I doubt that a lot of people watched the VMAs last night because a lot of stuff was on tv last night like the Bears-Packers game, Mad Men, and True Blood.

Quentin's always looked like an asshole. Luckily, his work MORE than makes up for his saliva-filled tomfoolery.

Taylor Swift is an untalented musical artist, and her "videos" certainly are not worthy of any type of award or praise. She's also not attractive, so she gets no sympathy from me.
I look at this situation as I did at Fiona Apple's outburst back in the day, it's the truth and people don't like to hear the truth because there is a manufactured idea that decorum should be used in Rock N' Roll. Kanye showed more at ude and honesty last night than any of today's "rockstars", telling the public that these awards should be about the actual videos and not the popularity of the artists.
These award shows should be about the directors and music video treatment people that have the actual ideas to blend music and mini-movies together. Where is there public award show? So all these prepackaged kids feeling en led to award speeches that they don't even deserve.

These award shows should be produced and broadcast by networks that actually have anything to do with music videos anymore. Shouldn't MTV's big annual awards show be the Spoiled Beverly Hills Teenager Awards?
It's all packaged when it gets to this point. They've even got Mary J. Blige using autotune now.

I lost all respect for that ass Kanye last night...sure I might still listen to his music, but as a person... him. Taylor Swift...even though not all people may like her music..is a very influential and great role model for young girls...and if I had a sister or any younger girl in my family, I would want her to look up to her and not 's like Britney Spears or someone else.

Kanye's an attention , no doubt. But I think its funny as that in an industry that makes so much money off of disclosing all kinds of information about celebrities and cators to attention whoring ways that people are actually thinking its logical to be critical of Kanye because he's an attention .

I'm fully aware of your attempt to "shed light" on the hypocrisy of it all, and I suppose, in the grand scheme of things, it's a valid point.
However, the egregiousness of the action is what's being touched on here. Moreover, that "attention " culture that you allude to doesn't have NEARLY the same reach and exposure as Kanye on a daily basis...and to my knowledge, the "whoring" general public has yet to develop any type of medium that could thoroughly embarrass someone, live, on national television.
