One thing is for sure. If Parker ends up leaving us, I am guilt free for hating his ass. Right now I believe he's just talking smack for his french fans.

So Tony Parker needs to sacrifice his love to play for his national team for what ?

    - the great fans who treat him like .
    - the joy to play in a "contender" starting line up with Bonner & Bogans.
    - the greatness of a coach who likes to destroy big leads with stupid small ball.
    - the faithful FO who plays mind games with Manu Ginobili after all he did for that team !
    - and don't forget the great Ratliff trade, just in time before the deadline... phew !

I really wonder why this guy wants to play with Noah, Batum, Pietrus, Turiaf, actually some guys who know how to defend the rim.

Maybe he just wants to play real basketball with his friends in a great compe ion.

And for those who call him selfish because he wants to play for his country...
WTF ! You are selfish when you only care about money and you doesn't give a about your country.

Now, you can insult me, you're welcome.

amen..... + 1000000 ... it's a ing sport.. let the guy play for his NT....

Last year there was no Manu and Tim was not healthy at the end of the season. Tony carried the team most of the time, so it was not a "normal" year.

So remove the 2008-09 season and compare the stats of Parker for the last 3 "normal" seasons :

    Code:
Year MPG FG% 3P% FT% RPG APG SPG TO PPG

    06-07 32.5 0.520 0.395 0.783 3.2 5.5 1.1 2.48 18.6
    07-08 33.5 0.494 0.258 0.715 3.2 6.0 0.8 2.38 18.8
    09-10 32.3 0.490 0.333 0.765 2.4 5.9 0.6 2.73 17.2
And tell me now he is the reason why the Spurs are sucking this season !!!
He has a bad year, i am totally agree with that.
But he is not as awful as some people claims it. And he is playing better the last 10 games...
    Just sayin'.

GOODBYE, if he plays and ruins our next year as well being all hurt up then he should be traded for what you can get (Something good hopefully).

His bad year is due to a series of nagging injuries, most prominently plantar fasciitis. Plantar facsiitis can only be fully healed by several months of rest.

I don't see how a reasonable person can ignore this. Tony needs to rest this summer or next year will a repeat of this one. Tony will still be a very good player, but he will not be able to perform at his very best.

If he's not willing to take simple measures to ensure the greatest probability of maximum performance, then the Spurs should get the most value possible in a trade.

Interesting argument. So maybe last year was an aberration? Or maybe Parker got more touches or was more aggressive because of diminished teammates? Parker's usage rate was significantly higher last year than the rest of his career.

But I think a lot of us hoped Parker took it to a next level last year and would keep up that level or even get better over the next 3 or so years. Maybe it was an aberration due to him taking more shots.

Just stop with the silly graphs and the fancy tables... Tony Parker is super slow compared to any other year and it's clearly visible if you actually watch the games. He's just not well physically. Be it the planar fasciitis, or whatever else.

He's doing an admirable job, but it's obvious he's pretty far from being what we need him to be.

Anyone who is excited about rebuilding the team around a PG in his 30's whose game relies on quickness is nuts. You cannot rebuild around Tony.

You were never gonna be able to build around him. A healthy Tony is a good all star level player. I don't think anyone has ever really viewed him as a great player. He's no Isiah Thomas..

I think there are a lot of people here who viewed Tony as a great player, and some that probably still do.

    OH Jeez !!!!

Bad Manu ! Bad Tony !

I guess you were all pissed when Team USA won the Gold in Beijing, thanks to thepresence of their best players.

And it's ok if Gasol bros. or Caledron or Hedo or Yao play for their respective countries.

But TP and Manu are the only ones who are wrong

Um, if other players playing for their NT negatively affected the Spurs, we would care. What are you thinking?

Having not played since Feb. 8, Parker said he was surprised the injury began to flare up on him late in the game against the Pacers, and cast his availability for tonight's game at Philadelphia in doubt.

Parker likely will be a game-time decision.

Parker is made, but trading him wouldn't make much sense unless you could get some real value. When he's an expiring next year it'll be interesting to see what he could bring.

I knew as soon as he got caught up in all of the celebrity and Eva bull that he was only about Hollywood and France and didn't give a about the Spurs.

I'm butthurt too but let's not go too far. In that time span, TP has two rings, three All-Star appearances, a Finals MVP and an All-NBA selection. He raised his game like three or four levels since "going Hollywood".

While I don't especially like Spurs players playing on their national teams, I can deal with it. But what I cannot ing understand is playing on your national team when you have an injury like plantar fasciitis that only seems to heal after months of rest.

What is very very sad is that we may have seen Tony Parker's peak in the 2008-2009 season.

And all things considered, he is capable of so so much more.
