I don't know internets. I don't frequent any other message boards - not prior to joining here or afterward. But it may be beneficial to set up some kind of scoring system for the Forum.

But not like some rep . Put out some kind of guideline to reward great takes and trolls so the board's entertainment value doesn't go to . And have some kind of grace period for new usernames to open threads or something. Make a game out of it, maybe do a weekly thread where points are awarded and the tree of woe has some posters placed on it like ornaments.

The Forum could use some infrastructure - an "investment," if you will.

Ever since most of the old school Spurs posters quit posting in the Spurs forum, the NBA forum has been infinitely more entertaining.

That being said its not like anyone is made to go into the NBA forum. How can it really be that big of a problem? If you don't like it just stay the out. There's really no need to fix it, IMO.

Makes sense in theory. But the reality is that the state of the NBA forum has done exactly what you suggest, urged people to avoid it. But included in those are some of the good posters. Quality posting and even halfway decent basketball discussion has dropped a great deal because people "just stay the out." Just leaves the trollers and trollees to potty in their fest.

But it's not Kori's fault either. I agree that what made the NBA forum so unique and special was the leniency and tolerance it had with pretty much anything. The onus is on the posters to self regulate to a degree. The changes don't need to come from the top. But people need to know when certain things become way too egregious.
