This trade shows how little value late 2011 first round picks have and Spurs' pick is even worse than Miami's pick. If Spurs are looking to high a quality player, their 2012 first round pick would be way more attractive than their 2011's one.
He's also a cancer and dumber than a brick.
If he can't play for Washington, how does he crack the rotation?
Please.

Well it doesnt help to be in a losing environment your entire career. Lets see how he plays in a winning environment. Obviously the reward is much greater than the risk. The championship window is small and players like Thornton can make all the difference in a 7 game series. The back-up three is very much needed and Thornton would fill that void at only $3 million. Reasonable price for a player of his caliber.
If he has a higher window than JA, why is he not playing on a scrub team, and JA played 17 minutes on a contender when healthy?
This years draft class is very weak. Kind of surprised me to hear that N.O wanted to get rid of Thornton for just a 2011 1st rounder.
How so?
Its just an unfortunate situation in Washington. Al Thornton played well upon arriving in DC and he played well for the Clippers. I just think he is a prime candidate for the back-up 3. Right now he is more NBA ready than J.A. and is way more talented than Novak. It may be risky in trading J.A. but this may be the last chance for TD to get the championship so we need an athletic, NBA ready small forward.
I still wouldn't trade JA for Al.
Look at the stats:
07-08 12.7 pts 4.5 reb
08-09 16.8 pts 5.2 reb
09-10 10-11 pts 4-5 reb
And he is still only 27!
I still do not see how Al has a higher ceiling than 22 year old JA. He might be able to contribute more to this years team if he wasn't a knucklehead, but I don't think he has a higher ceiling.

Golden State and New Jersey near agreement to trade Dan Gadzuric and Brandan Wright for Troy Murphy and 2012 second rounder, sources tell Y!
There's still discussions that could expand deal to include Devin Harris and 3rd team - possibly Dallas or Portland - but NJ-GSW part solid.
If G-State completes deal for Murphy, it's expected he'll get bought out and become a free agent. Then? Orlando, Dallas, Boston, Miami etc.

Sacramento and New Orleans closing in on deal that would send Carl Landry to Hornets for Marcus Thornton and David Andersen

I guess they want insurance for David west. Wonder why he's not pushing to get traded out
That is a good trade for NO. Why would Sac want that trade? Couldn't they get someone better for Landry?

Source says Hornets not shopping guard Marcus Thornton, but are being offered picks for him.
Sac has a lot of frontcourt depth now, which, unfortunately for them, just made them get Thornton and Andersen for Kevin Martin. Seems like a terrible move now. Makes NO have a great frontcourt

Better matchup for the Spurs vs NO now. Thornton killed em, now he's gone from that bench.
Strange move by NO.
Uhoh
Will the NBA Hornets trade Landry or West to the Lakers ????
Not that strange since Landy's deal expires after this season. He's a good rental for them.
Not sure what to think of the potential Harris to Mavs proposed trade. On the one hand Harris use to defend Parker quite well, but on the other, to accomodate Harris the Mavs would have to play a backcourt rotation of lot of small guards.
Considering the way he's been playing lately and seeing another player added to the PG/SG depth chart, no wonder Terry made the above comment!
Miami shopping Mike Miller already....
Splitter + Quinn + First rounder for Mike ???![]()
The reason they are shopping him is because he stinks.
As I said last summer.
Thornton has fallen off quite a bit. He is more inconsistent than he was as a rookie and seems to have regressed in maturity. I believe that's a big reason why hes being shopped and failed to earn playing time this year.
who else can we get guys??
i wonder if the FO is still thinking the way we think
of course, we are just fans
but we want the nba le
