Notice how the Bulls celebrated their win v. how the Heat were crying and whooping it up. The Bulls closed out the Hawks on the road. I think they are ready.

Respect in regards to what? Getting talent to come there? If other really good players don't want to play there, you can't fault him for their decisions. And without good players, he isn't winning anything except for what he did with what he had. Which, was pretty damn good if you look at it. He had no real second option his entire time in Cleve.

No other player has called a conference to announce his switching of teams, that's right. But is it any different from a player announcing he's going into the draft from college, or high school (In years past) by means of press conference etc? I think not.

Furthermore, other players have done egotistical things once paired, or with the intent to be paired with other great players. Example, Paul Pierce saying he's the best player in the world a little bit ago when the Celtics were rolling and on top of the world.
He made it to the Finals with said team and was up 2-1 against last year's Eastern Conference champs.....whether players like the city of Cleveland or not, if they think playing with him and the opportunities it affords gives them a chance to win they'd come.

The kids who announce they're entering the draft don't get primetime slots to do so on major networks.....some of "The Decision" is on the network that covered the nonsense, but normally press conferences for such signing in professional sports take place when contracts are signed and the player is getting welcomed to the team, not just when he's making his choice which we should all be so fortunate to hear.

And I don't give PP a pass for the nonsense he spewed out following the Big 3 trade in Boston and have never been a big fan in general (though I did root for Bposton to beat the Heat) just like I'm not giving LeBron a pass like he's been given so often.

Definetly celebrated in a proper manner I agree. Heat should've been better about it.

That was the Hawks team I was expecting to see in the playoffs.

He was there 7 ish years. Went to the finals like you said. Dismantled the Power Pistons roster in a shocking manner. You don't think other players thought playing with him would give them a shot at winning? He was one of the best players in the league during that entire time. The best player he had was Mo Williams LOL Then, an old Jamison. He would've rotted there and everyone knows it. Teams like Cleve don't get collusion trades like L.A and Boston.

College/High School players do end up on Sportscenter when announcing. Especially the good ones, like when Kobe came out. You remember that non-sense, suit and shades, etc.

Could've went about it different, but he didn't, and so many other players don't either.

I didn't like the trade for Jamison when it took place and was never impressed by Mo, but even with the some of the decisions the Cavs made with the team they still won. They botched the Amare trade but had he committed to going back to the Cavs with the free agency period within the last year I think he could've gotten someone like Amare to come over. It might have been a year off but there were also discussions with Chris Paul in regards to him possibly coming over at some point given his familiarity with Byron Scott.

Again, professional athletes don't have primetime specials they try to front with charities to announce their decisions via free agency, they have conferences after the fact when signing deals. That's why he apologized for the show almost a year after the fact. He tried to put himself on a hire pedastal than his peers and set a precedent but it made him looking even more egotistical in the process. Maybe he feels he missedd out on the college experience and wanted to revert back to the way things are done there but even in those cases many of the kids are signing letters of intent (contracts) on the same occasion, like the pros due when they have press conference and sign off on deals.

This is what you call a gamble with your future as opposed to an almost sure thing in what he has now.

He was there 7 ish years with no result. He owes Cleve nothing, time to move on.

Conference= move, but not enough for me to hate the guy.

He is the best player in the league IMO. A lot of players have stupid nicknames. Black Mamba, Merlin, Etc. LBJ is no different

The CP3 talks were that, just talks, so in that regard you're right in that it would've been a gamble to try to work a trade and free agency down the line would've been a tossup as well, but I still think with Scott and LeBron there (and who knows who else) they might've pulled it off. In terms of Amare, the Cavs didn't pull the trigger and decided to go down the same road Boston went down this year: rolling the dice on Shaq, which at this point in his career is an automatic fail. That said, if Amare knew James was coming back to Cleveland it would've been pretty enticing imo, even with bigger market teams eying him as well, because he would've had a great opportunity to win and the 2 of them would've attracted attention from other Free Agents. If Amare comes to Cleveland, there's still no doubt whose team it is because Bron was there 1st and they both play different positions/have different roles. Down in Miami, the team's iden y can be a tossup at times but it's largely still seen as D-Wade's team and what that does to leBron legacy remains to be seen.

"The Decision" is just one of the reasons I'm not a big fan, but again, I've followed him long enough to see multiple acts on his part to backup/validate my opinions on dude. I do think he's one of the best athletes in sports PERIOD, but also think his abilities have afforded him the benefit of some suspect officiating which has made him look even greater than I feel he is. He could be a totally different person behind closed doors than he shows in the media and there could be things about him that would make me change my mind regarding certain ideas I have about him, but to date I haven't seen much from many of his antics.

And I have a lot of repsect for you as well as Harlem and other LeBron defenders around here, even if we disagree, but I see things differently when it comes to "King James" than most.
