Ahh.. I was way off in left field on that one.
So, TP should be in his "mid season form" then too, right?
Awesome take, and he was the same way in college but his 3 point stroke seems to have improved since then ... you guys look like you found another gem like Choo-choo, last year.

I think Bruno said he took close to a month off after his last French game.
His form improved after Pop slapped his mug tbh.
Reminded me off Bruce Bowen last night.
Can Green play SG at all? I want him to overtake Anderson. Though Pop will probably start Neal before Green.
It's a good idea. You don't want good scorers to get hot in the first quarter and allows you to set a defensive tone for the game.
therealtruth speaking the truth!
Yeah, That's what used to irk me about having Bonner or Blair starting over Tiago was that it doesn't set the right tone defensively to begin a game.
I would love the Starting 5 (sans Manu) to be
Duncan
Splitter
Jefferson
Green
Parker
That would be epic, though I know Blair doesn't play as well with the 2nd unit.
Hallelujah to this thread!!!!
I thought he played well again today.
He hustled on every play, anytime he got beat he was hustling to try to get that block from behind.
He tipped out a few offensive rebounds and played with energy the entire game. Can't wait to see more
I don't know about you but to me is pretty evident that Green isn't a guy that can be used as a defensive specialist.
agreed - he got lit up in the 1st qtr by 30+ year old (IIRC) terry
He didn't lock down Jason Terry by himself, if that's what you mean. He got caught on some screens that he probably shouldn't. And Terry definitely got around him a few times. But all in all, I'm not unhappy when the JET goes 4-14.
Green did do some good things on defense. I especially liked it when he locked up on Ian Mahinmi under the basket, and caused that 3-second call. Ian thought he was going to go get easy position for a rebound, and you could see the "Oh " moment when he realized Green had gotten leverage and locked him up. Not too many 6'7" guys doing that - even if it was Ian Mahinmi.
There was one play where he got schooled on the offensive end, but ran down and got a steal immediately, to make up for it. And he got the Spurs' only block of the night.
He's not going to the All-Star game, but I like his effort and energy. And he's getting enough results to keep getting minutes. Right now, I'll take that from a guy who nobody expected to make the team.
Edit: BTW - I don't know who the Spurs have that you think can lock down Terry by themselves. He's always a tough cover. And since nobody on the Mavs could hit a shot, they were doing everything they could to get him a shot. Keep him shooting 4-14, and the Mavs are going to struggle.
lol people expecting him to play like an all star
Terry went 4-14, yeah he really torched him!
Reports on Green say that he's a B level athlete and that he lacks lateral movement, I have definitely saw that from him in these last two games where he earned a rotation spot.
I like Green, I just don't think he is very good defensively like some here are saying, people got too caught up with that block he had on Ellis.
It's even worse than that. I checked the play-by-play. Terry hit his first shot, before Green got in the game. Then Green blocked the first shot Terry put up when Pop put him in. All together, Terry went 3-13 with Green in the game, and one of those shots was a fast-break 3-pointer. In other words, Terry made exactly 2 shots that Green was guarding, and missed 10. That's not what I think when I hear "torched".
Green's shooting was poop tonight. But he finished with 8 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block. Maybe I have low expectations, but I'll take that.
Edit: The underlines are for you, DAF. You can't have a whole team of LeBrons and Kobes. Nobody said he was going to make the All-Defensive team this season.
I'll definitely take it, some bad luck on a couple of tip ins as well. Overall, I felt like he had a positive impact even though he wasn't shooting well. That's always a good thing.
Green beasted again. It's not all about stats. He helped bring the same energy he did last night, and with Manu out that's the most important thing he can do. Also, not sure about you guys, but when he messed up that offensive possession and ran down the court to get that steal, that spoke volumes for me (best moment of the game imo).
even if he gets torched on defense, at least his the only one on the roster that actually plays defense...
I agree he brings the energy and defensive intensity. That's only going to help the team.
He's starting to remind me of Raja Bell back when Raja Bell was athletic. Just a hard ass compe or at a guard spot.
Keep it up![]()
I like Danny Green.
Spurs needed a fierce compe or with brass balls.
Green is Hill but actually with enough size to play his position.
Very high BBIQ and smart defender. Good shot selection, can create for himself on a switch. Very Spur-like.
