Sounds like it's nothing.
I missed where Splitter asked to come out of the game because he was hurt.
We are deep enough to beat the Jazz without Splitter. I'm sure the Spurs figured that they'd take some precautions before sending him back into the game just to make sure that he doesn't do something to make it worse.
Also, you can injure yourself while you are playing and your adrenaline keeps you from really feeling the pain for a bit. Sounds like it might have been painful during halftime, when the adrenaline wore off. Again, I'm not too alarmed, though I hate it whenever an MRI is in the discussion.
I think he may have also aggravated his wrist by landing after doing a very nice tip in of a Ginobili trey miss at the end of the 1st to make it 28-22 Spurs.Splitter, who left the AT&T Center after Sunday’s game, said he injured the wrist while bracing his fall after tumbling early in the first quarter.
He timed the rebound putback perfectly, went up tall in traffic and was mini cheapshotted tbh from behind by Favors while in midair. Should have been a 2+1 fo sho.
Very nice play by Splitter and exactly the kind of Big plays we need.
What the _____ with Tiago is made of glass, Tiago just complains, Tiago etc...
How the ____ do you internet tough guys know? And if he is made of glass, you think he wants to be out of the game? You think people who break bones all the time are just weak? That they are not drinking their milk?
Pop has probably got in his face and said you damn well better tell me if something goes wrong. You are "property" of this team and if you let something go, good luck with the contract... He might have scared him less. We have now seen he does not tip toe around, he has taken plenty of good shots in normal play and not complained a bit. Torn muscles, ligaments, and tendons, broken bones affect your ability to do your job for the future.
Some on this board have gone rascal on us. " One time I was decapitated and I still finished my game of darts."
Now it may be that both Manu and Tiago hit the floor too often for whatever reason (Manu's case its probably hustle), but delicate and getting injured are two different things. These guys do not play like they are biding time waiting for some fat contract from another team so they ask to be held out.
Successful troll is successful.
PS: Damn. I walked right into it.
Every shot Bonner takes is open...with his unique shot style he's not going to be taking anything contested...its practically impossible.
Well doesn't that say something? Perhaps what we perceive as a drop off in offensive performance by Matt is merely the teams reading their scouting reports. In this case, he will get less open looks and always be contested with broken plays resulting in wide open looks being an exception.
The suspense of Tiago's status is killing me. I hope he's okay. We need him for round two or we're ed.
low pain threshold. I guess Tiago checks himself in and out of the game now.
Everybody's turned into rascal now it seems.
I doubt it's serious. Splitter played for several minutes after that fall.
After hearing the details I'm not worried at all. I fell a jumping over the rail of my deck and basically did the same thing...breaking my fall with one hand. It was annoyingly painful but not to the point where it hindered me. I wrapped it good when I went to the gym and was still able to bench 225 ten times without it stopping me. I could feel it some but the support of the wrap was sufficient. If I can do that I'm pretty sure he can wrap it and play without it really limiting him.
low pain threshold

Pop better not be overly cautious. It's time Splitter mans up and plays through something. A sprained wrist on a non shooting hand, for a guy who's a non shooter to begin with? That's a no brainer, as far as not missing a playoff game. I don't care that they can still probably beat the Jazz in no more than five without him. It puts more on Duncan's plate and will make the process more arduous than it has to be.
This is another remainder that they should have signed a third center, instead of Byars. Gadzuric was available before being signed late in the season by the Knicks. Criticize him all you want, the bottom line is he's experienced, 6-11 and is still a good rebounder/shot blocker. If/when they have to play the Grizzlies and/or Lakers, it would be nice to have another legit big available, because Splitter can't be counted on.
Sure, but you don't have the burden of being the Euroleague MVP.
Watching the replay, Splitter was doing some emphatic high fives with his left hand up until the end of the first quarter, fwiw.
I'm waiting for rascal to give us a final judgement on his pain threshold, tbh.
Im alarmed simply because if it's serious, spurs are probably sunk. He's that critical.
Lol dpg stop sensationalizing you
Spurstalk all year: "play splitter 30 minutes a game! Why isn't pop playing him more? Pop is so dumb! Splitter needs more minutes!"
stupid asses
Watching Randolph and Griffin go at it under the basket...
We must have him, especially if we happen to meet Memphis.
It's his left hand. I think he'll be good to go by 2nd game considering we have 2 days rest plus the 3rd day when the game is on the night.
Obvious rascal troll is obvious
That doesn't make any sense.
