well i got cm10 on my phone but the restore of my apps and data isn't going too smoothly. i'm getting a lot of "______ process has stopped" messages and stuff. my contacts didn't restore properly. i'll mess with it some more. any suggestions?
What Resistanze said
For recovery I would go with TWRP
But hey, maybe its because its better than CWM on HTC phones
Not sure about Sammys though

Did you backup your contacts in Gmail ?
If you didnt check your contact list in your gmail account as they might be there
You wiped the phone before installing CM10 I assume? I know I get those errors when I either 1) didn't wipe dataor; 2) installed gapps when it was not necessary/wrong gapps.
Did you get the FCs (errors) as soon as you tried ROm, even before you restored the apps?
As lefty touched on, contacts should really appear by itself as it's usually linked to your gmail account.
yes, I did the wipe before installing CM10. I installed it like it said on the instructions.
I don't remember if I got the errors before or after I restored the apps. I would say after because I knew I had to do that. I did the full backup in TB Pro and restored it the same way. Question, being that i'm going to another version of android, will that cause the conflict? I flashed CM10 again last night and didn't do the all-in-one restore. I tried it individually but Contacts wouldn't transfer. Oh, and I don't backup anything in Google.
- Install ClockworkMod Recovery for "skyrocket" or "hercules" whichever matches your device. Sorry, CM and TeamChopsticks cannot provide support for other recoveries, although they may work fine.
- Download the recommended radio version matching your device. (See the list below)
- Download the latest nightly or stable build from http://get.cm (choose Skyrocket or Hercules whichever matches your device)
- Download the recommended Google Apps. (See the list below)
- Reboot into recovery.
- Wipe data/factory reset.
- Format /system (mounts and storage->format /system).
- Install the zip files in this order: radio zip, then CM10 zip, and finally install the gapps zip
- Reboot. Let it sit for a few minutes after the first boot. Be patient.
Did you try "import from Google" in contacts ?
No, because I didn't backup in Google.
I never backup in Google but I retain my contacts, tbh. It should be linked to your Google account, try going to https://www.google.com/contacts. If you can see your contacts there, it's probably just an issue with the ROM syncing the contacts.
I can't even open Contacts on my phone. After I restore my Contacts from TB Pro, Contacts simply crashes.
Oh, and I just have two contacts in Google.
I hope for your sake that both of them are women
Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that there was a screen that popped up and asked if I wanted to change the Android ID. Should I have done that?
Upgraded my S2 to 4.2.1 with the revolt 3.1.0 ROM and done some cleaning using anium for data backup instead of NAND backup.
Smooth as silk right now.
