    Massive robbery !

Even worse than Bas Rutten x Kevin Randleman quite honestly !

  4. #129
I am curious for those that say massive robbery how did you score it?.

4-1 or 3-2? I watched it again and say 3-2 for Hendricks but round 1 was close slightly to Hendricks with 2 and 4 going to Johny IMO and 3 and 5 to GSP..

1 was close I am re-watching it right now. They both got a TD and spent time in the clinch.. Striking was about even on the feet in the center of the cage. Most of the damage done to GSP came in round 4 when he got tripped and ate some GNP. Round 5 GSP dug deep and pulled that one out. The fight is more compe ive than people are saying. 3-2 is no robbery it is just that 3-2..

There were far worse decisions in mma so I felt relief after the call.
IMO GSP won rds 1,3,5 that said Johnny was ready to take the belt and GSP's gap as a better then all is gone. Hendricks is a bigger guy. While GSP is 190, 195 at best. Johnny walks around 210. Big strong dude with wrestling credentials and power in both hands almost dethroned St-Pierre. Unbelievable. I though GSP will be able to be faster and will be aware of the punches more. Hmm

maybe he was thinking about retiring too much and stuff, he seemed too relaxed b4 the fight.

I don't know. I haven't seen presser yet but Dana being pissed is understandable. GSP is money

    All in all upsetting card.
Shad did to Sonnen what I thought he would.
Rory gotten beat down - but in that case it's all good. Cause Rory was too much in his hype.

I will maybe add more later as I have no time now. As still I was not watching it live, downloading the card in the middle of a day. Now I got to go to sleep.

btw. IMO Hendricks also lost to Condit, and I do not want his y ass as a champ.

I watched highlights of the presser.

    WTF Dana White?

I was actually shocked by Dana's post fight comments right from the start last night. I thought that he would play his usual card where he simply says I am not a judge and I don't score the fights but instead he really ripping the judging last night big time. He clearly has big time issues right now with this Nevada commission and that partially fueled his anger at the post fight press conference. That said GSP is his cash cow and I was pretty shocked to hear him openly talking so much about how he thought he lost the fight. Maybe he thought that would serve as just more hype for a rematch. It kind of sounds like GSP has family related issues maybe even health related issues with someone in his family. But Dana seemed confident after the press conference when he was giving interviews after he had spoken to GSP privately that GSP would fight again and all of this would basically blow over.

It's actually 3-2 for Big Rig, but I understand why some people gave it to GSP. A rematch needs to happen, which I think will in the immediate future. The question now is this, how is GSP going to bounce back knowing that Hendricks' is his biggest kryptonite?

  12. #137
1, 3, and 5 went to GSP. Round 2 was close too.

It's funny how that big amount of people say it's ridiculous that GSP won and that's robbery and all. But most are do agree that GSP and Johhny won 2 rounds each and that round no 1 was close.
    How's that a robbery?
10 pts must system does not works many says. But IMO if the judges scored more like 10-10 rds and 10-8 and 10-7 it would look differently.
Also judging by Pride rules that based on whole fight seems to be better.

In this system IMO GSP won. At least when I was watching it for the first time. But I thought they will give JH a decision, still when I knew it was split I was praying for a STILL!

All in all I cannot get what Dana white did. How could he go on a barrage like this?
    Gotdamn

btw. In a fight it looked like Johnny was a bulldozer while GSP like a barking dog doing not much of a damage.
When Johnny hits he hurts ppl. GSP not.

GSP always was quicker and was staying away from hits. It's not the case now. I thought he will avoid that big of a damage. But 3 last fights it was not looking as good as it should.

Maybe his problems are messing his head and he comes to the cage with the problems or after that knee injury he is not able to move as good.

Either way probably White will force the rematch and GSP can be finished and probably retire on a bad note ...

    Hows that db?

He is not avoiding strikes that he has in the past and looks to be a step slow. Most of his skills look to still be here though, I don't know maybe he just needs to get his head on straight..

You'd rather see him retire now or give that rematch?

Selfishly I want to see him fight a few more years but it looks like he may only fight 2 or 3 more times if that and he will leave the sport.. I expect him to rematch Hendricks in the Spring..

Yeah, Round 1 was close, and the reason most people thought that the decision was highway robbery was because Hendricks really won his rounds, while GSP just out-pointed in his rounds. So based on the UFC scoring system, this wasn't robbery, it just looked that way.

Granted, my immediate impression was robbery, I just had to think about it a bit and re-watch the fight a couple of days later to come to a different conclusion.

I think it's the fact that Hendricks so CLEARLY won rounds 2 and 4, while GSP barely won rounds 3 and 5, with 3 clearly being the only round that he won outright by any margin. So you basically have two rounds that were solidly for Big Rig and one round that was decently for GSP. Then you have two rounds where, at best, GSP scraped by.

All you have to do is look at the faces of the fighters after the fight. Hendricks HURT GSP, AND outstruck him, while GSP was on defense most of the fight and never seemed to faze JH.

At WORST it should have been a draw, because round 2 could easily have been 10-8 for JH, he almost ended the fight there. I wish officials would use 10-8 and 10-7 rounds more often. Round 1 of the Edgar Maynard fight springs to mind.

IMO Hendricks was hurt twice in a fight, but I will have to look at it. He is good at hiding it and then telling nothing hurt him. Also you cannot tell by looking at the faces of the fighters. BJ Penn could get big beating and you hardly could see any marks on his face.

In this system of scoring as many ppl right now saying the outcome is not a robbery. But still a controversial one.

All in all I would like to see GSP winning the rematch decisively. But IMO if the rematch happens John will be a big favorite. Looking to a fact that GSP gave his best while Johnny seems like he was not in any big fight.
btw. I was surprised that GSP stayed in a pocket as much ...

Well of course Hendricks was hurt a couple of times in the fight, GSP is a of a fighter. There's a huge difference in being stunned hurt and actually being rocked. Hendricks was definitely stunned at least a few times in that fight, but I don't think GSP ever really had Hendricks in trouble. I'm aware that GSP is obviously going to show more wear and tear because he's got more miles on him, but come on, probably 8 of the 10 heaviest shots in the fight were landed by Hendricks.

That said, I don't think it was a robbery. Just a bad decision, but not an egregious one.

  25. #150
That's lame he is not Chuck Liddell or Wandy.. GSP has only been knocked out 1 time in his career and that was 6 years ago. He didn't take major damage in the Diaz fight just a few decent shots. GSP cuts very easily and bruises easily as well. Some fighters are just easy to make it look like they took a ton of damage.
