Tthe Nets are in such deep

    Nets' pick situation:

2014 — Atlanta Hawks have right to swap first-rounders (Joe Johnson).
2014 — Owe first-rounder to the Boston Celtics (Kevin Garnett) — after Hawks potential swap.
2014 — Owe second-rounder to Philadelphia 76ers (MarShon Brooks, Kelly Olynyk, Ricky Ledo).
2015 — Atlanta Hawks have right to swap first-rounders (Joe Johnson).
2015 — Owe second-rounder to Atlanta Hawks (Mehmet Okur, Raul Neto).
2016 — Owe first-rounder to the Boston Celtics (Kevin Garnett)
2016 — Los Angeles Clippers have rights to swap second-rounders (if Clippers’ pick in top-55, Reggie Evans)
2017 — Boston Celtics have the right to swap first-rounders (Kevin Garnett).
2017 — Owe second-round pick to Atlanta Hawks (Joe Johnson).
2018 — Owe first-rounder to the Boston Celtics (Kevin Garnett).

So the Nets could potentially miss the playoffs for the next 5 years and not get a single lottery pick, they own 1 second rounder in that time period, they are in cap for at least the next 3 years and they dont have a single promising young player. Holy !

    from Yahoo's recap:

"It got so bad for the Nets they couldn't even end the game. Brooklyn was forced to call a timeout with 0.2 seconds left after a long delay because they only had four players who hadn't retreated to the locker room - thinking the game had ended. Several Nets had not fully retreated and were still in the walkway leading to the back of the AT&T Center, but resumed after initially stopping when the officials ruled the game was not over. With first-year coach Jason Kidd and his staff standing around puzzled, Andrei Kirilenko slowly walked back to the court and was subbed in along with Joe Johnson to complete the game with an inbounds pass.

''They thought the game was over, there was no confusion,'' Kidd said. ''They had left; they thought the game was over. Tom (Washington, official) asked if I needed to take a timeout just to get two guys back.''"

Just read from Woj that for the Nets to use their $5.7 million injury exception from Lopez, it'll cost the Nets an extra $21 million in luxury tax.
