Thanks to his leadership the SPURS have been the greatest franchise in all of american pro sports for the past 20 years. Hopefully he is healthy and hopefully Julianna Holt has the same philosophy as Peter Holt and keep the tradition of winning in SA..

There has to be some sort of gag order. I've asked many reporters on Twitter what is going on and people who normally respond have gone completely dark.

It's really odd that no one has reported "why" yet, no? Wouldn't that be the first question asked when something like this unexpectedly happens?

We won't know until it actually goes thru because the Spurs always try to keep things like this quiet. Its not like I'm wanting to be right.

I'm starting to think a soon-to-break "legal case" is the reason as you mentioned previously..maybe this was preemptive move..If it were health-related, i guess it should have made it to some high-powered media sources like Woj....

I really think it's health related. The transition seems way to smooth, nobody Spurs related seems to bent out shape as if they've known something about it for a while. As far as high powered media not finding out,I'm not surprised.
By the way anyone at the game?
    Is Holt there?

I know people that have been close to him in the past that pretty much confirm that he has a pretty bad alcohol problem. Hope he can make it through this.

They should just hand over the franchise to Pop.
That's basically what Holt did. He was the perfect owner. Didn't want or need the limelight and that meant he didn't have to meddle with things when we didn't win a championship every year. Hired great basketball people as executives for the team and let them run the show. And the Spurs became the best franchise in sports which is remarkable for a small market team.

I hope he is not in bad health.

And in so doing, improved the market value of the franchise about 100 fold for all those minority investors.

Hate to speculate, but it seems if it were a serious traditional health problem that his wife would probably not be in the best condition herself to take over. Things like Alzheimer's take a dreadful tole on the spouse. Or tending to a husband with terminal cancer. Even though the Spurs are pretty tight-lipped, it seems unlikely to me. I have hoped all these days for it not to be addiction-related but even strong people struggle with recurrence. I hope he finds whatever help it is he needs, whether medical or otherwise.

Sounds like legal/divorce issues to me. He has been seen with women on road games that aren't his wife.
Worst take in the thread. NO man would ever meekly sign the team over without a fight if that were the situation.

They both would have too much to lose because of how much they are worth. I would bet that they have their little agreement w/out an actual "legal divorce" where someone get this or this person gets this in case of a separation. This man is not faithful to is wife. You're a fool of you believe he is.

Well unless Holt is ing your wife (possible, considering what a eunuch you are), you don't know about what you're saying. I know that's all the rage here, but you took it to a new level just now.

I'll take that as confirmation that Holt is ing your wife. That's the only way you could know for certain that "he's not faithful to his wife".

Don't make me hungry again. I already had a 2500 calorie dinner (2 whataburgers, 2 large fries and a free buffalo ranch chicken sandwich -- they're darn good dipped in BBQ sauce).
