That's not proof of motive.
You'd be a terrible cop.
The attackers screaming "you voted Trump, you voted Trump" at their victim on camera, shortly after the election, is pretty clear evidence that it was politically motivated. Like, that's as open-and-shut as it gets.
That's not proof of motive.
You'd be a terrible cop.
When you spend years back filling your country with 3rd worlders, don't act shocked when they respond in a 3rd world manner when they don't get what they want.
If it was reversed and two whites were attacking a black screaming "you're a coon, you're a coon", it would be considered a racially motivated hate crime.
This is such a dumb thread and argument. Duh, there are stupid people, racist people, doing horrible things. It's not because of Trump.
Obama has been in office for 8 years and BLM rose to prominence under his watch because of social injustices. It will always be there. There are bad people. You can't eliminate racism because there will always be racists. But you can get it to the point where it's not reflected in opportunity, policy nor government.
But the fact people like OP and then Clipper Nation or Shaun King are posting these "Day 1" stories is so wildly ignorant and harmful that I lose hope in this country.
If that's all the evidence they had, that would be the wrong conclusion to draw. Got any examples of this happening and being decided that way?
"It's not because of Trump"
.... but Trash, pretending to some kind national leader, by his numerous examples and blatant bigotry has invited, emboldened these people to come out in the open and echo his bigotry.
So Day 1 in Trump's America = college kids act like idiots?
B-b-but it was just a car accident.
So tired of blacks wimpering around about how bad they have it. Maybe if they cooled all the ing crime, dad stayed home and raised his kids and they cooled all that stupid.... THE POLICE...music, things might change.
Tonight during the game, college or NFL will we see some black guy do something totally stupid, so it would also help if they learned how to act in public. They are tolerated because they can run.
The worst part about people losing their trust in the media is that we've lost respect for the filter of inquiry and validation that used to determine what was really news. Anyone can spray paint "n*gger" on a wall, take a picture and post it to Facebook and say it was white supremacist vandalism, and 200K boutons will fall for it or just share it because it supports the narrative. Anyone can create a Twitter handle called "KillWhitey" and post about shooting cops, and 200K ClipperNations will fall for it or just share it because it supports the narrative. And they'll both call the other one gullible.
Great take Darrin! Way to contribute and keep up with the flow of the conversation.
This. I don't know when anecdotal facebook posts and twitter trends became acceptable as evidence.
The media (meaning all of it) was meant to have a strong wall between reporting and editorializing. That wall vanished as most media outlets began to pander to their cons uents (which, is oxymoronic in itself as the media shouldn't have a cons uency) and then used social media as something other than a Facebook post.
So kind of the racists to only write on the glass and not cause any damage to his vehicle. Great penmanship also, looks like they took their time.
Why the blue font?
I like the circle-dotted i. Must have been one of Trump's 13-year-old girl supporters.
That was written by a female, probably his daughter.
we don't want those ty jobs. you whites can have them.
Out in the open. So I guess all the police shootings and tons of stories of racially charged hate crimes over the past 8 years was all because of the possilbity of Trump being president.
Agreed. It's both sides too and its disgusting and has created a really disturbing environment. Now people react immediately and violently only to look like idiots when things get exposed. But they don't learn from it.
How many of these stories, on both sides, have been exposed as fake? That doesn't mean what is happening isn't disguising but damn, what happened to actually waiting until details come out to form an opinion?
There will always be racists. Trump didn't do anything to create more or empower them. That's why BLM and other social activism existed before him and rose to power under our first Black President.
This country made progress. And just as I feared, Trump winning now gave everyone the ultimate "race" trump card to play again.
This country, full of the same racist people voted for a Black President. Twice. How could racist old whitey do that? It's not like the racists were hibernating and forgot to vote. Then just said "hey, it's been 8 years, enough of this equality! We gave it the old college try!"
It's ridiculous. This election was not lost because racists saw Trump and said now I can skip down the street freely with my racism!!!
There is the same amount of vocal racists today as yesterday but overwhelming this country has become more accepting. I just fear that we will have 4 years of pulling the race card, acting like nothing changed (which is not true) and tensions will become higher because of it.
This election was lost because DEMS ran out Hillary. DEM supporters overwhelming said no to Hillary when she ran vs Obama. They slapped them in the face. They slapped Bernie supporters in the face.
That is why the reset button was hit. Has nothing to do with people being tired of a Black President and the progress being made. It has to do with no longer trusting our government will work for us and being tired of a career politician like Hillary.
Obama would have obliterated Trump if he were allowed to run again.
I guess this is Correct the Record's new gig since they didn't get Hillary elected: flooding social media with posts to the effect of "I thought race relations were improving in this country, but conveniently right after a Republican got elected, the whole world now looks like a scene from American History X! Just ask my aunt's friend's sister's son's girlfriend's cousin about her totally true anecdotes!"
