Second returns: Zaza streches his lead over Kawhi who is threatened to be passed by AD..

You're underestimating Thompson being arguably the most overrated player in the league, the league wide obsession with that team and the politics that go into this . . .
- Jordan needed the Clippers to not fall off a cliff in the absences of Griffin, briefly Paul and to a lesser extent Re
- Conley, though you could argue wrongly, is nonetheless viewed as their clear 2nd best player and as a non elite team, the "they need multiple ones" argument won't apply
- Towns, as a 2nd year player, was probably always going to have to "wait his turn" and his team and to a lesser extent, him, disappointing, sealed his fate
- Lillard probably would have beaten Thompson out, had the Trail Blazers been what they were projected to be or at least closer to it
- McCollum, as a worse version of Lillard, only would have stood a chance had they pulled a Rockets
- Gobert is in his first season at this level, is viewed as their 2nd best player and Jordan, who's similar, on a better team and been at this level longer, has never made it
- Hayward is in his first season at this level, missed some time and isn't far and away their best player

Zaza won't be in the ASG. The starting frontcourt will be KD, Kawhi, and AD.
I'm telling you man..San Antonio is like the fattest and laziest fanbase.
lol det Melo vote begging...He got jumped up by Butler, and after this latest Knicks slide, he has no business making it..
Zaza isn't going to be passed. KL's gonna start.
West Team:
Guards-Curry, Harden, Westbrook, Thompson, Paul, Lilard
Frontcourt- Durant, Zaza, Leonard, Davis, Green, LMA
Oh please let Zaza make the starting line up over Kawhi so we can see what a waste this whole all-star nonsense is. To be honest, I stopped watching the whole crap weekend and just taped the three point shoot out because it's the only thing I even care to watch. I sure as am not wasting even five minutes on the actual all star game and I hope Kawhi doesn't play in it (or any Spur) and hopefully we can get to a place where we all agree that the number of all star games a player appears in means nothing as to their legacy as a good player.
Fan vote is only 50% of the vote. Zaza will get no votes from the other 50% (media, players) while Kawhi/AD will get enough to pass him.
I think getting selected means something as long as it's done adequately (no Iverson/Yao/Kobe crap).
The actual performance in the game doesn't mean that much since it is not played as compe ively as a regular game.
Expect WB to go "shoot 'em up" on the eastern conference to try to get the MVP
Btw, dunk contest has been good in recent years.
Good point, I forgot they changed it.
Not sure. I posted before that I doubt that other players will vote Kawhi.
If players or media defect 'respecting fan opinion' they could vote Zaza for the fans and AD for his PPG.
Kawhi's chance to start increases if he gets more fan votes than AD. That will force media to vote Kawhi
It is a damn travesty that Lowry is so low in the rankings.
All Star game is just one big show.
But as crazy as it sound, that game establish some standards about who is a star in the league and who not.
The only reason I want the NBA to see Kawhi as that kind of player is because he will get more and more respect from refs. I know, it's stupid to think that he could get more calls for that but we already watch games to know how it work, right?
Just fun get together weekend to celebrate basketball these days, means very little about who are the stars anymore since Kobe got a run the other season when he was like already finished. Now this follows where we have 'all star Zaza' and next all star Javale.
Sorry but that really is stupid. The best performers in the all star game are usually the ones who decide to chuck the most and/or benefit the most on having the ball in their hands enough to be allowed by other players to get open drives to the lane. That's all the game is nowadays, open long threes, and wide open layups and dunks. It's a total joke in every way and so is the notion that anyone would actually take it seriously on any level.
I already said it's stupid.
But we can't act like many contracts, endorsements aren't related to this game.
Also, designated player clause is about the game too "To be eligible, the player must be voted to start in two All-Star Games"
He will certainly be voted on
Any basketball high IQ peeps should have been there a long time ago.
ASG is worse than "reality" TV shows.
And will qualify anyway through All NBA teams. The ASG thing did help Lillard but hurt Davis this past year.
meh had free time and 5 min to kill so voted
Kwa
Deadmon
Anthony Davis
Patty
Patrick Beverly (sentimental reasons for his helping take out Curry last year. George Hill finger wag to Kobmes face also but can only vote for 2 guards)
East
Porzinger
Paul Millsap
Boban
Wall
Irving
Zaza a potential starting C in the ASG

Kobe got voted onto the AS Team one year when he played a total of 6 games the whole season. Six freaking games, between 12/8 and 12/17. And they KNEW that he was out for the whole rest of the season. And he still got the third most votes in the Western Conference.
Anybody who thinks enough about this to get upset should just be watching WWF, IMO.
Other teams in the city do the job asking their fans to vote Kawhi...They get only 300 votes.
My dad's favorite player was DRob, he used to vote for David completing voting cards and putting them in a box...Call me crazy or stupid but I voted for Kawhi and the rest of our guys almost all days, included today, the last day of voting. After all, it's a family tradition.
One hour left...
