Mitch tried to bail Magic out in 86 by getting Hakeem ejected.
Earvin is an ungrateful bas
Canned by your kid sister. Gotta suck to be Jim Buss...
I expect the equivalent of this scene soon:
Mitch tried to bail Magic out in 86 by getting Hakeem ejected.
Earvin is an ungrateful bas
Only way I see that happening is through free agency. Magic would probably be good at selling how great is to be Laker and some desperate star is gonna fall for it.
Lakers will be back in contention within 3-5 years.....book it
Wait, you're bragging about being popular despite currently being a joke of franchise? With a pretty bleak future? As a fan, I'll gladly give up that popularity in exchange for having arguably the best organization in all of sports, tbh.
Never heard that one before
Contention for a 1st overall pick in the lottery, maybe.
Damn, how is Magic gonna handle all these positions at once?
But you haven't dealt anybody Earvin...
Only Lakers fans think this move is positive
Not sure why LF are excited about this but I suppose, it's worth a shot. Anyway, it is official so congrats? Lol
I heard it 3-5 years ago
Confirmed: breaking the Cousins deal by refusing to include Ingram did Mitch/Jim in.
So first, the Lakers repeat the Clippers' Doc Rivers mistake. Now, they're repeating the Suns' Lon Babby mistake. Enjoy, Lakerfan!
As it should have. The Lkers have a long history of league-rigged trades. and Fredo broke that tradition by failing to dish the #2 bust Brandoff for a All-Star in his prime. , they should have offered both D'Bust (snitch) + Brandoff + Zu for Cousins.
This is so ridiculous. First off, the biggest mistake that did the Lakers harm was that Kobe contract. For Jeanie to sit there and grandstand and have the audacity to have Magic Johnson come in and question them is absurd. While the Lakers have been a joke for 5 years running now, the biggest reason is still on the team: Jeanie.
That Kobe deal was awful and everyone knew it. It turned out to be more crippling than anyone could have ever imagined and she wants others to answer for their roles in this?
She is stuck in La La land thinking LA is still a brand. She is the one with the terrible mindset of "we take care of our own and our banners will draw everyone to LA". How did that loyalty towards Kobe work out for you? Any free agents show up because they saw how "La takes care of their own"?
Then to top it off she continues with the stupid nepotism and brings in Magic Johnson. One of the worst basketball minds around. She then doubles down on the stupidity and says "We aren't looking towards the past". What? Not looking towards the past but brings in a former player and terrible basketball mind who then in turn reaches out to Kobe of all people to help (like he's good at building relationships - look at how many people litterally ran from him when they were on his team and how many people spurned him when he was a player).
Just ridiculous and yes Harlem, it got worse because this is proof that Jeanie still doesn't see SHE is the problem and she brought in without a doubt a WORSE GM and she still has the same mindset that LA is some big draw for FA's because they are located in LA.
Bron became the most influential athlete in the world from CLE. KD and Russ in OKC. Tim in SA. Harden in HOU. That sh*t doesn't matter as evidenced by their inability to draw any free agents.
Exactly
These fools actually believes Magic and an ex-agent could turn this thing around .
Well they should hope so - it's been 5 years running since they have done anything.
