What is your standard? You want to talk about all-stars career-wise, or being an all-star the year of? In 2003, Duncan was the only person making the all star team. Would I switch 03 Parker and Ginobili for Odom and Butler? It's not a slam dunk, but I would seriously consider it. Would I trade them, especially knowing what they would later accomplish? No, but then winning a championship in 03 has nothing to do with Manu and Parker making the allstar team later now does it.
Will I trade 14 Kobe for say, 14 Paul George? Of course, I would, it's a no brainer. Does that mean George is better than Kobe career wise? According to you, yes.
Also, Kobe played with Shaq, Malone and Payton, resulted in the biggest upset in Finals history.
Then he teamed up with Nash and Dwight, and resulted in a 1st round sweep.
Kobe didn't let Caron Butler and Odom the year he missed the playoffs.
So is Fisher and Phil Jackson.
So, wait, you want context previously, and no context now? 04 Olympics team was known as a dumpster fire before the games started. it was primed to fail, Duncan just happened to be on it. Kobe saw that from a mile away, and risked going to jail to make up an excuse to avoid that team. he knew he couldn't coattail himself to glory like he always did, and just opted out.
Not sure how this is relevant to the discussion at all, but at least he didn't have any flashbacks everytime he steps in the showers.
Kobe is god, basically. He sacrificed his only son so that whosoever accuseth him of rape in Colorado shall have everlasting cash.

No I am not. Look up Manu and Tony's production in 03, compare that to Odom and Butler in 05. Very comparable. I would say Odom and Butler had the edge. Fact is, Stephen Jackson and Robinson were the 2nd and 3rd best players on the 03 Spurs team, not Parker and Ginobili.
Are you going up against name recognition, or actual production? Tony Parker and Ginobili weren't good in 03, they weren't even actual starter material (or borderline starter material). I would argue much more for Robinson and Jackson, which in and of itself tells you how weak that 03 team was outside of Duncan when you have a way over the hill former all-star and a mentally unstable journeyman as your 2nd and 3rd best players.
It does have everything to do with you trying to say the 03 Spurs team was loaded because Parker and Ginobili were on that team, and whether I would trade them for Butler and Odom. But you are feigning stupidity because you got called out.
And Duncan played with players who were way past their primes or not yet reached their primes. 04 Spurs were horrible outside of Duncan. Hedo?
So why did you bring up Parker and Ginobili in 03? Or have your two neurons finally connected?
Yes, because Kobe let other players lead all 5 championship teams in advanced stats. I guess even Kobe knows he can't win as the lead or a team.
You said Kobe is the constant, there are two others.
and then you go ... So context is now excuse, but your excuse was context. Gotcha.
Wasn't Kobe the alpha on the 05 team?
Once again, context and excuses, depends on how you want to spin it I guess.
Probably not in the showers though.
