The disclosure of which McCabe was accused of authorizing came in October 2016, around the time Comey would announce the FBI was resuming its probe of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. At the time, Devlin Barrett — then a reporter at the Wall Street Journal — was preparing a story on the bureau’s handling of that case and another investigation into the Clinton family foundation. McCabe felt the story would portray him and the FBI unfairly, so he authorized two other FBI officials to give Barrett his account. Barrett now works for The Washington Post.
He was defending himself and acting in his own self interest, he wasn't defending the ins ution no matter how many times he claims it. Read the OIG report again. If he truly believed he was defending the ins ution he wouldn't have lied about it repeatedly while under oath. And the story he leaked was to try and cover the previous article the WSJ did on his wife's contributions.

    I know

    from same article:

Background conversations with reporters in Washington are commonplace, and McCabe had the authority, as the FBI’s deputy director, to authorize them. But the inspector general came to conclude he was acting out of self interest, and that violated FBI policy.

    It's common knowledge.

Look at you big timing me.
I'm not claiming to be a subject matter on clinical re edness.

It's just my average common person opinion that anyone that seriously thinks Disney is subliminally harming our kids is really re ed.

So you're saying they should be investigating Trump and possible connections to Russia and obstruction of justice?

    Yes or no.
I said from the start to investigate it all, I also said it was a huge waste of time and taxpayer dollars as I believed there was no Trump/Russia collusion and this was all just reactions to Hillary not winning and trying to cover for the illegal surveillance done during the run up to the election. Do you ever sit back and think none of this would have come to light if Hillary had won?

So he wasn't defending the ins ution.
the IG found that he was looking after his own self interest and not the ins ution.

that doesn't mean a jury would make the same finding. its why accident cases can still go to trial even if a police report says who was at fault.

right now our firm is defending a claim where the contractors state license board has found this guy did all kinds of violations and now have filed an action to strip his contractors license... but we're still defending the claim as we are disputing the CSLB's findings. mccabe could dispute the OIG's findings in court. call witnesses, etc.

Regardless, I think successfully prosecuting McCabe would be a uphill battle. Trump's tweets alone could totally screw any shot at a jury trial.
This will fail, as so much conservative bull does, when it gets into a court and has to produce actual evidence in an adversarial situation. The laughingstock that is the Kansas voter ID trial typifies this.

You contradict yourself. I'll ask again so you can answer with a yes or no.

Should Trump be investigated for possible Russia connections and obstruction of justice?

    Yes or no.

Actually I do believe most if not all would have come to light. It would just have been a lot easier without the obstruction from the executive and we wouldn't be kowtowing to Putin at every opportunity.

When it gets to court and has to produce actual evidence.....prosecutor Huber, "here is the taped recording of McCabe lying under oath twice"

Explain to me how this is "conservative bull ". Horowitz is an Obama appointee. Democrats called on him to investigate.

ok, lets say that either mccabe pleads guilty or is found guilty at trial

for lying about a leak made to the WSJ where he disclosed the ongoing investigation of the clinton foundation

what's the end game? is that it? what are the political points scored?

"investigate it all"---there is no contradiction there. Investigating it all is uncovering how the investigation started in the first place.

Actually I do believe most if not all would have come to light. It would just have been a lot easier without the obstruction from the executive and we wouldn't be kowtowing to Putin at every opportunity.
Who would be investigating the weaponization of the intelligence community? You think Hillary would have authorized that?

    weaponization

You still haven't said what stated the entire investigation into Russian interference in the election, TSA.

I'll ask you again -- what started the initial investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election?

"Justice Dept. watchdog sends McCabe findings to federal prosecutors for possible charges"

When non-Trump ally violates media policy, it is "animal style"

When Trump allies lie to FBI, are actually charged and/or plead guilty, it is "process crime"

TSA is the biggest fraud on this board
