Yea, no way a historically great shooter and solid defender would have made a difference on a team that was perhaps the greatest passing and shooting team in NBA history. No way he would have been a helpful shooter despite the fact that he holds the record for most threes in a playoff game and most points in a quarter. That would not have helped in Game 6, especially his top marksmanship on the free throw line.

Big props to Klay coming back to take the FTs with a torn ACL. Don’t know if he thought he could come back in the game or just didn’t want to let Toronto pick a bad FT shooter to take them but major props none the less.
ACLs are weird. I remember when Rondo tore his, he was practicing normally the next day. ACLs are about lateral movement, so it’s possible to run straight ahead sometimes. Wentz threw a TD pass after tearing his ACL and staying in for one play.

And on recovery time, it varies but 9 months is probably a good bogey. But could be longer. They should just keep him out until the playoffs.

But karma cameback. Green made a reckless play that injured GSW player on a roll not unlike when Kawhi got injured two years ago.

You have to be trolling, because Green made a clean block attempt and barely fouled Klay. And Klay hurt himself initially by kicking out his leg.

Would be funny if we play the Warriors in the first round again next year, but this time as the higher seed
Given the leftist leanings of Pop and Kerr, the series would be moved from ESPN to CNN. Rachel Maddow, Anderson Cooper and Van Jones would lead a diverse broadcast team, and Pop would actually be cordial during the in-game interview.

Pop and Kerr would never stoop so low as to be on one of those “news” channels (Fox is one too) where it’s just talking heads yelling at each other. Agree with them or not, they say in a sentence in a presser more than is said all day on one of those networks.

It was a mistake by him to go for a contested dunk, he was already been playing with an injured hamstring, he didn't have enough athleticism left in him safely make that play...

Looks like Cousins is open towards re-signing
    https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/06/...-the-warriors/

other teams would be smart to pry him and Looney away with big offers. Further break up that team. Curry, Green, Iggy (turns 36 during the season) and Livingston (34) a returning Klay and vet mins. aren't exactly a scary team.

Clean play? Green fouled him. Because of the way he came into him, he landed awkwardly and tore his ACL. I don't think Green did it maliciously. He's done that same play many times for the Spurs. But going full speed like that on a fast break and going for the block like he did, it's no surprise if there is a collision that causes a player to get hurt.

A foul can still be a clean play. All dirty plays are fouls.

So who can SA realistically get to be contenders? As it stands this team is still probably looking at a second round exit at best next year

No one. This is still a DD, LMA, and Fatty Mills led team.

They're soft pedaling Klay's injury. It'll be a year, unless they're stupid like Jontay Porter.

If KD opts in the Dubs should consider trading KD for AD. Media would kill them, but it would make them the favorites for next year immediately. If AD goes to the Lakers a bunch of ring chasers will follow them and I expect them to add plenty of shooters instead of low IQ "playmakers" and Javale McGee like they did last season.

Spurs going after Bogdanović is a good move and a good 3rd option, but we need a better 2nd option than DePression and I don't really see one. Spurs also need wing defenders like Young, Morris, Ariza.

Can we offer the max to Thompson????

You said it. The Spurs not only lack the players to be true compe ors, they lack the leadership. Dijon shows the instincts. If he develops some basketball chops, maybe he can provide something more than the faux leadership that has failed to fill the void left behind by 3 leaders we enjoyed so recently.

    Found this;
Coach Steve Kerr said Thursday that "Durant is going to miss next season" Thompson's injury isn't quite as severe but his probably wouldn't come before the all-star break- at the earliest.

    ...

But karma cameback. Green made a reckless play ...
    That is an outright lie.

What got Thompson was when he misjudged the timing for the dunk, and went in too far under the basket, so he had to lean back and to the side, and then land on his left foot. Also, he didn't jump high enough to get good clearance of the front of the rim. He missed the dunk, the ball went off the back of the rim.

Go look at it. It was all the fault of Thompson, himself.

Green's contact with Thompson was so minimal it probably should not have been called a foul. It does appear Green slightly brushed Thompson on the back of the head, as Thompson leaned his head back, because Thompson had gone in too far under the basket.

Looney's contract for the season was only $1,567,007, per basketball reference dot com. A minimum contract. I suspect many teams would now pay him a lot more, and the Warriors will have to pay him substantially more to keep him.

Not sure you can fault anyone on that play. Thats basketball for you. They both made tough moves. One guy took it strong and danny gave great effort to try and block. Just bad luck tbh

Lonzo, Ingram and the 4th pick for AD is ridiculous tbh. Even the Spurs could give them a better offer than that
