not calling alec baldwin an amazing character actor or anything, just saying -- it's not like he was drunk and loaded live ammo with a reasonable belief it could go off and kill someone. that's what i thought inv manslaughter consisted of

Alec is a really good actor. This shouldn't even have gone to court. They got the armorer but she's not wealthy enough.
Unfortunately, what a waste, Balwin is not a convicted felon so he will have trouble portraying Yam s on SNL. Maybe Danny Trejo or Kevin Spacey can step up.

Totally agree about the armorer, reading up on it. Also wild that the crew who were fired apparently took the prop guns and fired real rounds in them for fun before hand. Youd think theyd be aware what that could lead to even if they were walking off set
I actually feel (a tiny bit) sorry for AB, since he described Rust as his "passion project" before the shooting even occurred. He was the driving force behind it and it looks like he ultimately signed off on hiring some of the fringe talent hoping to break in and instead of being rewarded, they literally caused him to kill someone.

Although I'm a fan of the rich and powerful being humbled, they rarely pay for their crimes. This wasn't one of them though (a crime).

And how about the guy who gave testimony in exchange for immunity. He sounds guilty himself.

Honestly, I can't believe it took this long. I think it was a bit of a stretch to charge him. Can definitely see the civil suit happening tho

Ya I'm not so sure it wasn't David Halls who has the lions share of the blame he. He cut a plea deal.
Baldwin, who has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter in his case, initially told investigators that Gutierrez-Reed handed him the gun but later said it was Halls. The actor has said he pulled back the hammer but not the trigger.
Halls acknowledged on the witnesses stand that he "was negligent in checking the gun properly" because he didn't examine all the rounds inside.
