The team was just outcoached. San Diego exposed them, and the coaching staff never made adjustments. The Steelers just did what San Diego did to them. The defense also didn't live up to expectations. The Steelers just pounded them and they didn't have a response to it.

I don't think it's Manning's fault at all. He didn't play badly, and when they played desparate they were able to move the ball quite easily.

Manning was under pressure almost every time he went back to pass. Manning is a great QB and I will tell you this....NO QB coulda done any better with the kinda pressure he got.

Manning did not have a good game, but I do have to give credit to the Steelers D for just gettin pressure on him almost every down.

In all fairness to Manning (and I still say he can't win the big game), the Steelers played him EXACTLY the way you have to.

Get an early lead, then stay in his face.

    Pefect game plan.

you cant put the blame on the kicker. indy played like for the most part. on that last drive it was 2nd and 2 i believe, and they took 2 shots to the endzone or close to the endzone. they should've went for the first down first because they still had 2 timeouts left. they then could've gotten a little closer for the kicker and be able to take a shot or 2 for the win.

"Here we are," Manning said. "I'm out at my third Pro Bowl, I'm about to go in and throw a touchdown to Jerry Rice, we're honoring the Hall of Fame, and we're talking about our idiot kicker who got liquored up and ran his mouth off.

"The sad thing is, he's a good kicker. He's a good kicker. But he's an idiot."

Agreed. They didn't do a good job of getting close. In addition, WTF was Harper thinking by cutting back to the middle? If he jukes to the middle, but angles towards the sideline, he's clear probably down to the 20 of Pittsburgh, if not the score. He cut back to the middle, allowing Big Ben to snag his foot so that the pursuit could tackle him...when there was no one down the far sideline at all.

Yeah, Vanderjagt's BAC was probably higher than Manning's QB rating, can't blame the kicker!

At least they made it a fight to give them credit, helped by a wierd call on that interception and the fumble.

ohh its hurts, it hurts so bad I've been getting messages from people all day and still have more to hear from the guys at work tomorrow. People sure don't let up when you're favorite team loses. It was a crazy, great game towards the end. We just got off to that slow start and when we got going, it was already too late. We could have had that TD at the end, I don't understand either why Harper ran down the middle. You could have gone all the way! And vanderjagt...Sigh, oh well. I still love my Colts and Manning. These "one" games kill me. I will mourn for a few days and then be ready for next season.
    Liquored up kicker....
thanks, for some reason that kept me laughing the whole thread.

Im not a football fan although I usually do watch the playoffs.

Last sundays Colts vs Steelers game was probably one of the best games I've ever seen, amazing.
