I was kinda hoping sheed would start bringing out the belt again soon. This will probably make him think twice.
Truthfully, it's not a rivalry until each team wins a series...

so basically you rip me on my comments.
then you confirm them in the same post.
how awesome!
look bottom line, the pistons are wearing out their starters, which is going to come back and bite their asses when the playoffs roll around.
bad for them. good for us.
buy a bench. or develop one. similar concept. same result.

If the Pistons starters are worn down in the playoffs, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Bruce Bowen will be worn down in the playoffs. The majority of the "star" players on top playoff teams will be worn out. Seriously, stop talking about how the Pistons starters are going to be more fatigued than any other star players on other NBA teams. It's such an overused and unjustifiable argument.
Having five guys play about the same long minutes does not make them more fatigued than one guy who plays just as many minutes or more on another team simply because there are five of them. In fact, if a player logs 35-40 mpg and is the only one on his team that plays that much, he probably is double and triple teamed a lot, gets hacked more, and has to deal with the pressures of being the #1 guy more, which would make that player even more fatigued as opposed to five guys who share the burdens and responsibilities at both ends fairly equally. Having five guys play those minutes means the burden is spread out more among them.
If the Pistons starters are playing too many minutes, then almost every top team has at least two or three players that are playing way too many minutes. Look at the Nets. Kidd, Carter and Jefferson have to do EVERYTHING for that team at both ends of the floor. Both Kidd and Jefferson play more minutes than any Pistons starter. Why don't we hear much about how Kidd, Jefferson, and Carter are going to break down? Same with Marion, Nash, and Bell.
The argument is tired. It is foolish. It is reaching. It simply carries very little merit. Will the Pistons starters be fatigued at some point in the regular season and maybe even in the playoffs? Sure, probably, but not more than any other NBA starter who log just about as many minutes, and many times even more minutes. Revelation ... NBA starters get tired at some point in the regular season. Who knew?
Stop with the "Pistons starters' fatigue" argument already.
Okay Jam. Add those extra few minutes, times 82, and see what number you get.
Makes a difference.
Pistons this season:

... are playing effectively same MPG as last season:
http://www.nba.com/pistons/stats/2004/index.html
The Pistons didn't look exhausted in the Finals last June.
Don't count on them being exhausted next June.
Let's see...the spread between the average of the Spurs listed and the Pistons is about a minute and a half, or 123 minutes, or maybe 5 extra minutes each week.
OH MY GOD THEY'RE GONNA DIE OUT THERE!!!!!![]()
They beat us twice convincingly.
I'm not going to talk any trash about the pistons like some Phil Jackson wannabe.
They have a great team, and whoever wins the finals this year is going to have earned it.
Okay Brutalis. And, as such, I guess Rasheed Wallace (35.5 mpg) will be much fresher than Tim Duncan (35.7 mpg) come the playoffs. Well, that's good, since Tim Duncan is the player the Pistons must worry about most.
How easily the bandwaggoners forget....

(Chauncey Billups' minutes (36.3) - Tony Parker's minutes (34.8)) x 82 = 123 minutes
So, over a SIX MONTH PERIOD, Chauncey will have played about 120 more minutes (2 hours) than Tony Parker, or approximately the length of a major motion pictures ... OVER A SIX MONTH PERIOD.
Tayshaun Prince will have played about 160 more minutes than Bruce Bowen, approximately 4 and a half NBA games worth for a regular starter who plays about 35 minutes per game. Tayshaun Prince is NINE YEARS younger than Bruce Bowen. Five extra regular seasons games do not seem to be completely unreasonable. And, with more playing time for Delfino and Evans, Tayshaun's average minutes will start to decrease.
Rasheed will have played 16 fewer minutes than Tim Duncan over the course of the regular season, even though Rasheed is relatively healthy and Duncan has been hobbled with his plantar fasciitis. Does that make a difference?
Ben Wallace will have logged many more minutes than either Rasho or Nazr. I don't think that's much of a concern though.
Manu will have played many fewer games and minutes than Rip Hamilton. I would guess if Manu had been healthy this year, he would be averaging close to 34-35 mpg, even with Michael Finley. But, if Manu can stay healthy, he will probably be fresher than Rip Hamilton in the playoffs ... IF MANU IS HEALTHY. Who knows?
So, BRUTALIS, how much difference does it really make?
come on so did you guys. i hope these losses in the last 5 games get these guys to play there best, and not to come into games overconfident.
I hereby apologize for our rare moron fans....![]()
