I got the message loud and clear.
I think they were just trying to tell you they didn't want you back...
I got the message loud and clear.
Manny, I'm with you. I would never go back if they caused such a big deal over something as stupid as wearing your cap backwards....esp in a sportsbar! I would totally write a complaint letter summarizing the bad service, bad treatment etc. to their headquarters or something.
Has anyone ever been to Tex's Sport Bar off of 410 near North Star Mall?
Is that the one connected with the Hotel...
IIRC, M., a number of Spurstalkers used to go there a few years back (before my time, though).
I had a waitress friend there and the father of one of my friends is a bartender there. Its ok, not great. I used to go to get hooked up with cheap drinks.
I'm just thinking about a new place that we can go, especially with the playoffs fast approaching.
We need:
- a big tv
- decent food that isn't too expensive
- drinks that aren't weak and also not too expensive
- enough parking
- easy for everyone to get to
- a place where Manny can where his hat any way he wants to
- a shrubbery
Kori and LJ's!
And did you say "shrubbery"? . . . http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22477
We used to have GTG's there all of the time ... it's in the Hilton between San Pedro & Blanco. I don't know if it's improved since then, but at the time the service was TERRIBLE.
Oh, and they didn't know what kind of soda goes in a scotch & soda. And ask Kori about a surprise she got in her iced tea.![]()

- and another shrubbery that we can place next to the 1st......
I wish I new a place to suggest...
I like Champs but it is always super packed.
Although I think they have a room that they take reservations for.
The food & drinks are pricey, but service is top notch.
I know some places.
Not to mention traffic out there is a thanks to all the construction.
They do not take reservations for that room during playoff games.
There was a 2 or 3 inch piece of glass in my iced tea![]()
If I was Manny I would shave the back of my head and draw me another face as I walk in that palce backwards just to freak out the bouncer, he wouldn't know which way your cap was facing![]()
What about Firehouse Pub & Grill? I have been there a couple of times, and it seemed ok. I dont know how close it is to everyone though. Its off of Walzem. The food was good, and there were a couple of big screens. I dont think they let kids in after a certain hour though.
The Coach's Corner!
We had a lot of GTG's at Firehouse last season (more than 10). It's pretty far for most people (especially me).
Only other place I know of, would be Buffalo Wild Wings.
Don't know how accomadating.
Good food, im not a drinker so can't attest for their drinks, but they have TVs all over the place and NTN trivia like Hooligans.
Its hooligans, but smaller, but nicer!
BTW, if its a GTG this sunday, hope you guys have fun
can't wait to have one on about the 15th of April![]()
Just an idea, i live in selma so its a straight shot down 35 for me.
Im on the southside near 1604, so its a ways for me.
Its a ways for alot of peeps.
but its a nice place, last time I was there though, they lost to LA in game 6 in 04.
Not great memories leaving that place.
Just FYI, Buffalo Wild Wings doesn't reserve seating.
