soooooooooooooo if i "pitch" will you catch ?
yeah my knee is in pain it popped sideways again when i planted it off that spin and throw......it'll be fine i just gotta remember to wear my brace next time.....
soooooooooooooo if i "pitch" will you catch ?
negative
affirmitive
Well, alright.
Who's ready for another practice?
We are ... I think Chris can move shoulder now.![]()
I wouldn't put a girl pitching. Unless that girl is tuff and has super fast reflexes, because those balls come at the pitcher the fastest and seen some people get nailed. Short stop is another postion you need a guy, most of the grounders go there. You can live with a girl playing right outfield, not many balls get hit out there.
batman will have to play infield because of his knee mobility....unless he can run like he was on the day of practice...then he can play outfield
I'll pitch, I'll play third or short, or I'll play in the outfield. I really don't give care.
Those of you who went to practice on Sunday, do you think we should practice on the same field or try to find another one?
That field was kind of....eh.....but I don't really know of any others. Just a blind shot at the Parks & Rec website.![]()
Yeah, I couldn't even tell where the bases would be but I'm sure we could practice there for free next time.![]()
I'll be at the batting cages early Thursday evening, if anyone is interested in joining.
You're going to want to put LJ and I in the line of most balls. See: Shortstop and left-centerfield.
I'm sure my fielding is suspect at the moment, but after a couple of practices, I should regain my perception, accuracy, etc.
I think Chris should be first base because he can stretch out and reach potential bad throws.
I'll be at the next practice. What about same time, this Sunday?
Eisenhower Middle School doesn't have a softball diamond or anything, but it is a pretty large open area field - if you can't find anything.
what the batmans fielding skills are phenomenal
Kris says maybe so
batman says fo sho...he was all over the field on sunday...that is until he tweaked his knee
I was surprised that my years of baseball came back pretty quickly. I was a pitcher/shortshop growing up but I can play outfield no problem. I've never seen how these slow pitch softball games are played, but I imagine a lot of hits to the outfield. Center or short probably makes sense for me.
Overall, team looked pretty good. Next practice we should get a better idea of positions.
I wasn't sore after the softball practice. It was three hours of basketball practice outside afterwards that got me![]()
PRACTICE
When: Sunday, May 28
Time: 4:00 - 5:30 pm
Location: Olympia Park, 2102 Basse 78213
I'm thinking like 7ish? At the same place, are you down?
You should definitely play short, you will not shy away from the ball, like most people do.![]()
If Chris can catch really well, then he should be perfect for first. His length and height is ideal for first.
Since I never played baseball growing up, i still misjudge the flyball every know and then. I have a habit of running forward as soon as the ball is hit. My arm isn't the greatest either.
Maybe I can bring my kids to chase after the balls that go out to the railroad tracks.![]()
I'm down.
Supah Sweet. Hopefully they have the damn thing fixed right so we aren't out of the cage hitting them again haha.
