Haven't been there in a few years, but Piedras Negras was incredible.
Little Hipps Hamburgers was a favorite of mine, too. Too bad it closed down.
Is Oscars on the southside still open? If they are, get the puffy tacos.
I have heard about Grissini, my store manager goes there from time to time and he likes that place alot.

Perico's, Chris Madrid's, Reggiano's, Saltgrass, Piatti's, Macaroni's, Rudy's, ChaCho's, the pizza place upstairs in Ingram Mall has some awesome marinara sauce that I dip pizza & calzones in, to me Chinese is Chinese(all the same, yeah yeah, I know, "PF Chang's...", blah blah blah)
Out of SA:--
King Taco(LA), Cabo Wabo(Cabo), Thurman's(Columbus)
Hard to find GOOD Carne Asada & fish tacos in SA.
Oscar's is still open and it is the ing best.
Rosario's has the best salsa in town. La Margarita is a great date restaurant.
Haven't read this whole thread, so I don't know if this has been mentioned yet...
But check out Sompong's on Fredricksburg and Datapoint. I love their Pad Thai
OK, forgot Chuy's & Adobe in Houston.
Cafe Adobe is awesome - best chicken tacos and fried ice cream ever.
Dio, you better bring me some Sammy Hagar gear from Cabo Wabo!!!
yeah. I will definitely make a visit next time I'm in town.
After all these years in the restaurant biz, I'm still really into Pappdeax's.
I'm already back man!
I'll show u pics of me instead, OK????![]()
I like their green enchis as well.
I'll try them the next time I'm in Houston if I can drag myself away from Cafe Japon's awesome sushi happy hour.
I guess I'm gonna break down and head to Saltgrass Steakhouse tonight and see how their Ribeye compares to Texas Roadhouse. I keep seeing good reveiws, so I'm gonna give it a shot. Hope you people are right.
Papa Dante's is great. Did you know there is a "Little Dante's" now, too? It's on Pat Booker Rd where the old Subway used to be. I haven't been there yet, but it looks nice, they have little tables on the sidewalk. I used to go to Dante's a lot, but I've only been once in the past couple of years.
La Margarita is also a great place to take people from out of town. They love the atmosphere...and although the food is ok, it's only slightly overpriced. But I have never taken anyone there from out of town who didn't just love it.
I like Saltgrass, but I have never eaten at one in San Antonio, only in Houston and Dallas. But, you'd have to go far to beat that ribeye at TR, IMO.
