watching the east and west finals, it was apparent to me that avery and riley were really coaching and actively making adjustments.
dantoni and saunders seemed content to roll the ball out there and see what happened.
Coaches coach during the game to you know. Mike D'antoni makes no halftime adjustments at all, in games 1,2,3,4 and 6 he had the lead at halftime and looky their he blew 3 of them. Do you listen to post game interviews, after games Avery talks about how their team has to adjust defensively and offensively. All mike can say is if they make more shots they will win. He has the coaching IQ of a 3rd grade little league coach. Nash is the real coach on the team. The only plays mike has them run is alley oops, he said himself after game 5 when asked about not getting thomas the ball when he was hot that they don't run plays for specific players. Nice coaching their, can't even run an offense.

Your team won, so I suppose that it is only fair that you get to write the history.Did you enjoy donatoni's comment that "they can't guard us" after he won game 1 scoring 120 points? that wasn't very wise. how did that work out for you guys struggling to score 100 points per game the rest of the season? avery had more peices to work with but certainly outcoached dantoni in the sense that he had his guys playing championship style basketball and worrying about all facets of the game, including rebounding and defense and not just offense.
However, please dont shrug off Raja Bell's injury like it is no big deal. As if D'Antoni had the same chess pieces in games 2-6 as he had in game 1...because he didnt. Raja was the teams best defender, and most leather long range shooter, having hit 36-73 (playoff) three pointers prior to tearing his calf.
Would the Suns have beat the Mavs if Raja was healthy? Who knows. I do know that the 1 game where he was 100%, the Suns beat the Mavs, in Dallas, 121-118.
It is all speculation at this point. The better team won. That is what the scoreboard shows. That is what history will tell.
Good job to the Mavs. Enjoy the ride from here.
if you want to play that game, i'll give the mavs a hypothetical game 1 win because josh howard got hurt in the 1st quarter.
...lke you said, gotta go on what happened
just keep drinking that kool-aid.![]()
