I hope antimatter crashes into the American Airlines center
so what you are saying is Shaq = Nazr/Rasho.
It will still a up on pop's part for not at least trying
I hope antimatter crashes into the American Airlines center
Which one?I hope antimatter crashes into the American Airlines center
I think this was all a conspiracy paid for by American Airlines.
you mean 4-2 mavs win, ive been right on every series so far in the playoffs except i had pistons beating miami in 7.
Go Heat.
Wade has been unstoppable, Shaq is still a monster.
Don't expect AJ to out smart Pat Riley and Dirk's Free throws will diminish in comparison to Wade's and Shaq's.
I expect Dirk to get as many or more free throws than Shaq, and he'll make 90% of them.
So when the time comes in the finals, for either a pre-game or half-time presentation, and the Mavs bring out all their great players from the past, are they gonna include Roy Tarpley?![]()
Pop = 3 rings AJ= 0....WTF? What's your point?
and hopefully it's obvious when Dirk gets his jersey pulled(like Parker did twice), or when players continually bump Dirk and hook elbows(Bowen), or when players push off to get rebounds(Duncan all series), or when players simply keep thier feet set and their hands up to play defense but get called out anyway(the entire mav's team against Duncan). The refs kept the Spurs from getting blown out by 30 in game 7...you're right, hopefully the games are better ref'd.
Riley makes adjustments
I think it will be Mavs in 7. The HCA in the Finals will be a key factor.
Well, here is a Piston's fan who is still here! Congratulations on a great win over the Suns and WC le!! I am going for the Mavs over the Heat!! Been 26 years as I understand it for your franchise. 'Bout time you won it all!!
I expect you are excited!! In fact you should be!! Are your party plans ready?![]()

What sucks about this finals is that either Miami or Dallas will win (obviously).
I hate both teams and I don't want guys from both teams to touch a ring, but at least I will be laughing at one of them when it's all said and done.
Either Cuban + Dirk + Avery, or Walker + Payton + Zo + Shaq will all be crying.
Go Mavs!!!! Prove Them Haters Wrong!!!!!
I was thinking today about how excited I was in 1999 when the Spurs made the Finals for the first time and imagined that Mavs and Heat fans must be feeling very much the same way that I did (and most of us who post here) did in that amazing summer.
I don't care for Mark Cuban and will root for Miami, but in some way, it's good that new groups of fans get to experience that joyous feeling of having their team in the Finals for once. I honestly think that being there the first time forever changes the way you view the entire playoff process and the Finals as an event.
still think pop shoulda traded parker for artest and then naz/rasho for malik...
maybe get a draft pick thrown in and go pg shopping this offseason....
but oh well...
Well, not this year! Would have been fun to play ya! Be interesting to see how they break us up next year! Fip gone? Players gone? Who knows?
Avery's adjustments are pretty nice. The Harris and Diop adjustments downed the Spurs.
Apparently it hasn't changed their desire to troll this forum.

Hey im new to the site and i was just wondering....why so much hate for the mavs? I mean, i know that we are the team that put you guys out of the playoffs, but in years past i never had anything against the spurs when they beat us. Somebody please fill me in.
Because you are the exception and not the rule.
As in not trolling. Welcome.
If Mavs weren't such punks and their fans such jerks, some of us might be more supportive of them. Howard running into and standing over Ryan Bowen (against Houston and running into Raja twice, Jason Terry taking a cheap shot low blow, Stackhouse running his mouth last year (Duncan wouldn't have made that much of a difference) and Cuban insulting San Antonio for "marketing".
Bunch of punks and criminals.
Mavs won the series and congrats. Before you leap to conclusions, remember the outcome might have been very different if we played the Grizzlies (who have never ever won a single playoff game) as our first round opponent, or we didn't have to play 3 games in 5 days (transitioning from the Kings to Mavs), or we didn't meet up with the Mavs until the WC Finals, didn't have Mavs shooting 50 free throws in a single game, have the refs hand 2 games to Dallas. Even so, you all won in overtime against us in game 7 (ie it was a close game). Remember also that you have 0 les so far and likely it will stay like that at least until 2007. Therefore, it is ridiculous to claim that Mavs are much better than the Spurs and talk so much smack. At the very least, the two teams are very close and you finally won a series against us and go the NBA Finals. Good job, but wait until you win 3 Championships before you treat us like you're so much better than us.
This forum as a whole never believed that the Grizz would beat the Mavs nor that the Suns would beat the Mavs. Most of us knew that the series with the Mavs would be tough. A mental blunder by one of our players gave you all new life by causing the game to go into overtime.
Detroit could have said the same thing (as you Mavs fans) : that Miami could not beat them since Miami had such a bad regular season record against good teams. That logic has already been disproven.
If you can't figure out that the regular season doesn't mean much, you're really confused (exhibit a is the Pistons and we unfortunately are exhibit b).
A 7 game series involves adjustments and familiarity.
Jamstone, Dirk will get open jump shots if they play Dirk at 5. Shaq will get dunks if Dallas plays Dirk at 5. But Shaq will make a much higher percentage of dunks (say 98 %) than Dirk will make jumpshots (and the 3 pt shot won't make enough of a difference). You do the math.
Dallas has serious disadvantages in matchups.
Devin Harris = Jason Williams
Jason Terry can't guard DWade. But Howard can't guard DWade either. DWade can guard Jason Terry as can Gary Payton.
Plus, that leaves Terry guarding Antoine Walker who will post up.
Dirk can be guarded relatively well (he is so good no one can shut him down- but one can try to just make things more difficult for him) by Haslem, Posey and Walker.
Shaq cannot be guarded by Dampier or Diop. (and hack a Shaq = bad math since 0 turnovers are created by putting Shaq on the line every time down the floor - ie a chance to score every time and if he shoots even close to 50 percent then Heat score more than they would by conventional defense).
Wade and Shaq will score more at the rim than Dirk. Higher percentage shots (and more in the paint) means Miami is likely to win.
Heat in 5 or 6.
