If it wasnt for our inexperience last year the Mavs would of ended the Spurs season in 5 games or even a ing sweep. They arent as evenly matched as you think they are. We control the tempo and build a nice lead and you ALWAYS have to try to find a way to come back which wont help your chances against us in a series. If/When the 2 teams rematch the series will be much shoter when the Mavs win it. I wouldnt be shocked if we even swept the Spurs this year. They arent that good of a team. The Mavs decisions to around and blow a good lead scares me much more then the Spurs.
No, you derail the discussion by, in a Spurs fan-esque way (despite the fact that your actual allegiance may lie elsewhere), crowing about championships over and over when championships have absolutely 0 bearing on the here and now.

And, for what it's worth, I don't even care which city is better. I live in neither at the moment. Both have their ups and downs.
What's more interesting to me is the way that San Antonio's lack of any team besides the Spurs causes so many of the fans to be so hilariously defensive and sensitive about their one horse.
Thing is your team isnt good enough to do those things and we had leads of over 10 points and you had to expend all your energy trying to come back. We are experienced now and our next 7 game series with you guys will be less dramatic for the Mavs to win.

Every team has fans that about the refs. I think it's pathetic. Their mistakes are part of the game just like the players' mistakes are.

you know why that's not the same? celtics fans cant talk crap because even though they won a gazillion championships, that was centuries ago; the Spurs championships are as recent as 2003 and 2005. The Spurs have the same core of players who have won championships, do any teams out there have a core that has won a championship out there aside from the Detroit Pistons, the Miami Heat, the Spurs, and even the Lakers?Wow!! This is the first time I've seen a Spurs fan that realizes this...awesome...
The Mavs have the same core that took them past the Spurs, but that was not easy. Was it? You must acknowledge that your victory wasn't resounding as you think it was.
When the Spurs finally got over the hump against the Lakers in 2003 they got lucky on the Horry shot that came out, but they erased any doubt of them being the better team by waxing their asses in Los Angeles in game 6. But what happened the next year? The Lakers came back and beat them, even with that 0.4 miracle , they beat the Spurs.
...Think about it. Winning a championship means the world... beating your arch-rival means a lot too but its no championship.
P.S. When the Spurs beat the Lakers in 03, they won the championship
