Big Ben was out of line. Artest delivered a fairly soft foul. Ben put his hand around his neck and pushed him. It was like a half-choke.
Things should have ended there but the players and fans made matters alot worse.

Ben Wallace threw a puch with his open hands to Artest's face then kept charging after him as Artest was going away from him...then he kept having to be restrained by his team and coaches, thus causing all the melee with the fans.
ducks, it is not the weapon, it is protecting the sanc y of sports, he needs to be made an example of...he needs to be punished to the full extent of the law to discourage other incidents in the future.
ONeal will be suspended for 10-20 games

OH I just saw a great angle. No beer bottle...a plastic cup....a ing plastic cup with beer. Then Artest just goes after any random fan that he sees. Probably not even the right one cause he's a stupid punk.
WHOA!!! there's the proof right there! replay shows it was that little black guy in the black hooded sweatshirt that threw it. He ran off to the left and Artest went for the poor white guy that STILL HAD HIS BEVERAGE IN HIS HAND!!! Damn Artest, if you're gonna get revenge, get revenge on the right guy. Did yall see Jermaine Oneal hit that fan with the Piston Jersey on on the court. He got him real good in the face. That was the best hit during that fight.

Look at original shot..I have it on tape as I was taping the game because I wanted to get the highlights of Spurs since I missed game. Artest went after the black guy with the white hat on who threw the beer. There was another fan that threw a whole beer at Artest after he was going after the original fan...Artest went after that guy, then Jackson went after the original guy.

The black guy with a white hat threw the beer...Jackson took care of him after Artest went after the white guy who threw beer at him afterwards. Jim Gray saw who threw the beer and he said that Artest went after that guy, the right guy...I have watched it a dozen times. The guy withe white hat on suckerpunched the players from behind.

Yeah Jermaine is a cheap shot artist....the towel boy has nowhere near the athleticism as O'Neal but Jermaine cheap shots the towel boy when he's on the ground trying to get up.
