I think it's gonna be the Yankees vs. Phillies in the World Series. Should be fun.
I don't know about you, but if someone calls me a ing piece of unprovoked I'm not going to sit there with my hands in my pockets...........especially if its coming from a person who has no business and is paid to have no business saying such
I just be the bigger man and let him get hauled off.
You can't let it affect you to the point of where you get thrown out of the game and affect your team.
Him doing all that, could have cost his team the playoffs.
I think it's gonna be the Yankees vs. Phillies in the World Series. Should be fun.
Who wouldn't want to see the Red Sox and Cubs in a colossally historic World Series? That would be truly incredible.
That would Incredibly piss me off and would have Gay written all over it.![]()
That's the same mentality that cost the Suns two players against the Spurs -- putting one's own pride ahead of the team's best interests. I guess Milton Bradley can be satisfied that his pride is still intact, but his teammates would probably prefer that Milton be dealing with the scars of being called a name while still playing baseball into October.
Selfish.
The Rockies are a Team of Destiny. I can't imagine them losing a series. It's their year.
I don't understand the obsession Cards fans have with the Cubs. Some of them can't seem to go more than 3 posts without bringin up the Cubs. What's with the penis envy? Is it because Cubs fans are more passionate about their team? Is it because the Cards will never be as universally loved as the Cubs no matter how much they win? One of you Cards fans is gonna have to explain it to me, because I just don't understand the inferiority complex.

I think he lost more pride getting his knee blown out by his own manager than he would have just ignoring the insult and reporting it to MLB along with the 1st base coach. People that are that easy to bait are just asking for something like that to happen.
Yup.
Reacting before thought leads you to a lot of trouble in life.
The parallels between this incident and the Phoenix - Spurs series are pretty numerous.
Grow up, be the bigger person, and move on. It's not like the ump took a swing at him or put his personal safety at risk. MB could have completely ignored him or at least been PARTIALLY controllable. His manager HAD to tackle him to get him to stop. Even then, he was pissed. There's no call for ever losing your cool like that, least of all not in the middle of a sporting event. Seriously. People deal with much worse every day.
so you would not care if might cost your teamates and your fans posteason success and a shot at a le
PRETTY DAMM SELFISH
Here is my prediction:

This World Series would be the biggest ratings bonanza of recent history. The 2 lovable loser franchises going at it for all the marbles.
Cubs vs Indians would be even better. Can't really call the Red Sox "lovable losers" any more. Cleveland on the other hand...
Anyone but the Diamondbacks as far as I'm concerned. After listening to so many Suns fans run their mouths about the Spurs all offseason, I don't see how any self respecting Spurs fan can root for a Phoenix area sports team.
I think ratings wise, Boston-Chicago would be huge compared to any other matchup.
It's going to be Rockies vs. Angels and the ratings are going to be horrible.
i'd watch that over cubs/redsox
That has to be the most childish statement I've seen in this topic. Grow the up. The only Suns fans that have ran their mouths are trolls, and most of you feed into them, anyway. Blame yourselves for the rampant infestation of da_suns_fanisms.
Maybe I'm just weird, but when my teams are out of it, I kind of just like to enjoy the sport itself and root for good games.
I'm kind of pulling for Cubs-Red Sox simply because it'd be the best baseball story in ages, but the Rockies advancing to the Series would also be a great story.
But other than that: Seeing the Indians and Red Sox rotations out-duel themselves for complete games, the Angels and (to a lesser extent) Diamondbacks go small-ball, the Phillies try to outscore the Eagles with three MVP-quality players, A-Rod try and break out of his postseason funk and playoff baseball in Colorado are just some of the story lines I'm watching for.
Oh, and this made me laugh, so I'm posting it here.

I get how the Cubs would be a good story but how would the Red Sox be a good story? They have the 2nd largest fan base in the AL behind the Yanks, so I can see the Yankees being a "good story" as far as ratings is concerned. It's not like the Red Sox haven't won a World Series in the last 5 years. The Red Sox, Cubs, and Yankees all have payrolls over 150million. Here is your good stories: Colorado-which is making it's first ever playoff appearance, Philly which hasn't been there since the early 90's, Chicago for obvious reason, and Cleveland because the city has yet to win a championship since 1964. Obviously I'm a Cleveland fan so my opinion is slanted, but the only good story would be Cubs/Indians and let one of the two fan bases actually win something or Colorado/Cleveland just because they have the 2 smallest payrolls or if your a MLB exectutive you might want Yankees/Cubs just to rake in cash..
alright second
And even with the Red Sox' win a few years ago, I still think the historical significance of two of baseball's oldest franchises is still fun. Of course, it's lost some of the fun it'd have been before the Sox won, but still...
That's not taking away from the other franchises. Phillies, Indians and Yankees would all be historically significant in some way. There's good stories all throughout this post-season, which makes it that much more fun for me as a baseball fan.
And as far as the payroll argument goes, I'd expect the problem a smaller-market team fan would have with that, and while I have my own issues with skyrocketing payrolls, you can't argue with the fact that those with ginormous payrolls still have great players on their rosters.
Through my eyes, the game will be enjoyable any which way it falls out.
It's not just the trolls. It's the majority of Suns fans in general. Go to any Suns forum, and about 75% of them refuse to give the Spurs any credit whatsoever. They'd rather say that the Suns were robbed. Or that Donaghy rigged the series. Or that the Spurs cheated by "winning dirty." The list goes on.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. There's much more. Like Suns fans throwing things at Spurs players after game 5. Suns fans calling in bomb threats to the Spurs Hotel while in Phoenix. I grew up in Arizona and know all about Phoenix area sports fans. My disdain for all things Phoenix goes back to when Steve Kerr was playing at U of A. ASU fans taunted Kerr about his father's recent murder with chants of "Where's your dad?" And just a few short years ago, they taunted Lute Olson about his wife dying of cancer. Real class acts living in Phoenix.![]()
Now, are all Suns fans like this? Of course not. And if you're not one of them, you have no reason to give a . I was born and raised in Arizona for 13 years. And I've seen my share of Phoenix sports fans in action. So you'll have to excuse me if I don't do cartwheels over the thought of a Phoenix area sports team winning a major championship anytime soon.

Don't quite understand the whole "rivalry" thing there do ya?I don't understand the obsession Cards fans have with the Cubs. Is it because the Cards will never be as universally loved as the Cubs no matter how much they win? There's a difference between rivalry and obsession. Take note how I haven't mentioned the Cardinals since they were eliminated - I moved on, because it's more important to support my team than blast another.
Which is exactly why you don't obsess over teams you aren't playing in football this week in the college section, right?
You are just one big walking contradiction.
Oh and its not obsession, its hate. F*ck the scrubbies and their legions of bandwagon fans.
