Wow, so many ties between Canadiens and the 1999 Stars.

Bob Gainey led the Minesotta North Stars to their first Stanley Cup appearance in the early 90's

Then he wins the 99 cup as the GM; Carbonneau was on that team as player. (his 3rd Stanley cup, after winning 2 with Montreal).

And Carbonneau is also Brendan Morrow's father-in-law.

Gainey did that a lot. Craig Ludwig came from Montreal as well. Mike Keane did too.

Carbonneau's daughter met Brendan Morrow while they were teammates in Dallas, if memory serves.


Dave Tippett attended the same college as Ed Belfour and Craig Ludwig. Don't remember if they all played together.

We outplayed Philly the whole series, total domination. We should have won in 5.

But at the end of the day, Flyers took advantage of any opportunity they had, and that's a quality any team must have to go far.

And I'm convinced Biron was on steroids

But almost everybody thought Montreal would finish 14th in the East, and we finished with the 1st spot, so still a great season

And congratulations to the Flyers, they are a playoff team, I respect the out of them
