ST just isn't ST without something to complain about.
At least now, people have something Spurs-related to discuss.
Not agreeing with you = obtuse?
And as for what's beneath me, I'll defer to your expertise on that.

D) No one worthwhile played in front of himThe reason TP played was because:
A) He wasn't injured all the time.
B) He would take the abuse, get back in and work on his game
C) He should dedication and commitment
Tony had out-of-position Antonio Daniels and 75-year-old Terry Porter playing point in 2001-02. Beno had a future All-Star and Finals MVP playing ahead of him.
When you have Tim Duncan covering your backside and another 1st team defensive player on the team and a team D concept that the rest of the team knew by heart covering you as well, Nazr's D could be overlooked. Fact of the matter is Nazr was in for half the season in the '05 run and had not time to pick up the D, the only reason he got in the rotation was cause of Rasho's injury. Training camp came and Nazr had personal leaves of absences (baby born and religous). So, essentially he had one full season to pick up the D, which most Spurs players have. He played well (stat wise through out the season), played well in the Sac series, but once he hit that three in Game 2, he was benched and Pop went Small and never went back to using Rasho or Nazr. Why did I write that and why is Nazr in a Beno thread?
Stephen Jackson is bad azz.
Which is why Pop should have benched NVE ass for good, and let the "raw talent" of Beno get out and play. And be "hard as on him" in the process to make him a better player.
Funny how so many people forget about the Tony Parker who went to the San Antonio press and whined about the Spurs wanting Jason Kidd. You know- the one who said the Spurs were HIS team and that he did not want to play SG with Kidd at PG.
I'm glad the little prick is gone. I consider most of the reasons people cite for disliking him completely valid. That said, I strongly believe that Pop mismanaged a high draft pick stunting his development, resulting in the loss of that asset to the team at extra expense. Seems like a waste to me when you are happy to pay a few million dollars to dump a first round pick just so he can go be productive somewhere else. Of course, he'll probably fall out of his car tonight and be on the injured list for the rest of the season, rendering this whole discussion moot.
Yeah, no kidding. I wish we had that hardass mofo on the Spurs![]()
Which should have made it easier for him to play and succeed when minutes were given to him. He had less pressure, because he would know that Tony has his back if he made amistake.
Chuck Hayes was hard enough on Beno.
Spurs Big Three: 14-36 shooting; 36 points.
Beno Udrih: 8-12 shooting; 27 points.
Yeah the post counts are about to go up. Maybe Scola will avg. 25 and 10 in December???? That'll really get cooking![]()
Now Beno's a high draft pick!high draft pick

That would be a bad time to do that, because we were in the middle of a series against a GREAT Dallas team. Putting an injured and unmotivated Beno in would be suicide.
Being hard on him might have worked if he'd been allowed back on the floor after a mistake. Since it was a formula that worked really well for the current backcourt it should have been attempted. Water under the bridge. Sacramento isn't going to be a factor, so who cares. The Spurs did everything right this offseason. I'd rather have Washington than Udrih at this point, talent or no.
Yeah, it's not like Tony accomplished anything to eventually prove his worth to the franchise.

He was "de man" tonight. Monta Ellis was to..he dropped 15 in a row. It was a good game to watch.
Oh gosh, no. I don't want to close 30 Scola threads a day![]()
Yeah he lured in Eva, boosting up revenue and profit at an all time high.
Spurs:12-3 Kings:5-9
Obstructed View has the most appropriate moniker out of anyone in this thread. How anyone can defend Beno at this point is beyond me. If Beno had his way he would still be sitting out with the same injury that sidelined him much of this year with the Spurs.
I honestly cannot believe there is an actual "debate" on the subject of Beno.
Lots of players have scored a lot of points for bad teams. Lots.
Ron Mercer averaged 20 ppg elsewhere.
He came to the Spurs, some Spurs fans rode his jock.
He got cut midseason and the Spurs ate his $7M (?) salary.
Some people don't make it as a Spur. There's reasons for that. It doesn't mean they aren't going to do well elsewhere. But it doesn't make the Spurs stupid for getting rid of them.
