    Why would Charles throw out the statement that he did? He knew the players he was playing against weren't putting in maximum effort to win games.

    You're right, a former Lakers GM handing the Lakers a great player for is exactly like David Robinson breaking his foot, the Spurs having the second best odds to get the #1 pick, and ending up with Duncan.
