I thought Rush underachieved in the game. He had big problems with the length.
Big Xll es!
Look at KU's website:
Beautiful.CHAMPIONS!
KU wins the national championship game! After defeating Memphis 75-68 in overtime, the Jayhawks clinch the fifth national championship in school history and the first since 1988. Tuesday classes are canceled in honor of KU's victory.
That was an awesome finish, and I don't even like college ball. WTG Kansas.
I wanted Memphis to win. Mostly because I followed them all year because I have Derrick Rose on my Dynasty Basketball team. Oh well.
Beautiful for people who to go Kansas.
what a crazy game. Congrats KU
13th place...not too shabby.

Hey Mike, is coach Self going to be coaching his alma mater next year????
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then. The Big XII, Home of the Blind Squirrels.
He has been given the offer. I found a GREAT article on rivals that dug up an old quote from him that said his dream would be to coach at OSU (this was like 18 years ago or the like). The article was written as if it were a back-to-the-future type thing, with him going forward in time to remind himself what his dream job was originally. I think it was even called 'Self-Addressed Letter'.
Anyhoos, the facts are the facts. Bill is an alum. He is one of the Top 150 donors yearly to OSU. He has immediate family that live in Stillwater. He is great friends with the AD. The offer is going to make him the highest paid coach in college basketball, plus 6 mil to go blow just because he signed his name. You will be taking over a program that, while not a top 5 or 6, is for sure a top 15 program historically, one of the best arenas historically, Has been to the Final Four twice in the past dozen years plus another couple Elite Eights, has had the #1 recruiting class recently and an amazing crop of talent returning. KU is gonig to lose 8 to 9 players off this team, which may or may not matter because most of them started as Frosh/Soph.
Bill was brought to KU to win a NC; mission accomplished. KU is going to win and recruit no matter who the coach is. This will be the ONE chance in his life to take the money and run, because at this point only the only jobs that would top KU would be UNC, Duke and UK (unless he goes NBA - how many college coaches are successful doing that?). KU cannot compete with OSU's money; OSU is not KU's tradition, however in reality not that far romoved.
The question is: does Bill take the money and go home or stay and try to build a 20-yearish program like Coach K?
I think he stays and regrets it the rest of his life.
It took you two days to come up with THAT for your comeback??
Sorry. I'm not very good at talking smack.
No offense, but we noticed.
Ooops. I just was told it was a done deal. 4 mil signing bonus; 3.5 mil per; 15 years; trust fund for his both his kids in Boone's hedge fund, no commissions; a brand new house built at Karsten for him (Karsten is the ritzy area next to the golf course); lifetime membership to Karsten Creek (the golf course).
He has agreed in principal but will wait a week or so to let KU enjoy the le. Unless the KU AD changes his mind.
Hahahah - I think he goes to OSU and regrets it for the rest of his life.
Top 15 all-time? I think top 25 all-time might be your best bet, Mike.
Don't ever count out City College of New York, which is the only school in history to win the NCAA le and NIT le in the same season... easily putting them at #1 all time.
Let's go with 15+ jobs that are more appealing than OSU (in no particular order):
1. Duke
2. UNC
3. Kansas
4. Kentucky
5. UCLA
6. Georgetown
7. Indiana
8. Texas
9. UConn
10. Florida
11. Michigan
12. West Virginia
13. Michigan State
14. Louisville
15. Arizona
16. NC State
17. Wake Forest
18. Georgia Tech
19. Marquette
20. George Mason
Thanks, Wojo: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/colum...0&sportCat=ncb
George Mason?!
You should put Ohio State and Oregon on there though.
You also forgot Marist, Winthrop, and Southern Illinois
And Michigan State, Syracuse...
