Horry leaned forward to avoid losing his balance in anticipation of the contact. His arms were against his body and he stood his ground. If West hadn't jumped, nothing would have happened. Some people just see what they want to see.

You don't box out or set screens leading with your shoulder, especially on a player's back, that was just a hard foul. I doubt Horry was trying to hurt him, just compensating for his declining defensive/athletic ability. It's like playing bball with older guys, they'll hand check and hold more than the younger guys that can move.

SAS has just had an embarrassing playoff run thus far. Every tactic they have used is just beneath a championship squad.

Ordering hits on injured players, hack-a-shaq, whining about the refs in the media. This team and franchise simply has no class anymore. To top it all off the fans chanting "Horry" when West was on the floor writhing in pain says it all.

So you can't set a screen in the playoffs?
It was a moving screen with putting a lot of weight into it. Horry set the example of how to get away with being dirty. Using your body on a moving screen is the perfect play to hurt someone.

If Horry did it to player who's back isn't injured before, there wouldn't be such a controversal thing about that play.

Just saw the replay on ESPN and it appeared Horry crept up behind him and set a moving screen, putting alot of weight into it and leaning in with his shoulder. He knew what he was doing, the only thing missing was a pair of horns on his head and an evil grin.

    And Terry and Howard,

Seeing as how Game 7 is Monday, that's 4 days of solid rest. West should be fine provided this isn't a season ending injury.

Horry led into him with his shoulder, it was a foul. Unfortunate for west he was moving backwards and didn't see him.

Just be glad it's no longer the 80's. If the NBA wasn't so pussified West should have gotten up and punched Horry in the mouth Kermit Washington style. Now days you gotta be sneaky and get your cheap shots in without getting caught.

Seriously he hit him in the padding of his butt. That wouldn't have hurt anyone except someone with an already aggravated back injury. It was a clean pick. And I hope West gets better. I'm sorry spurs fans chanted afterwards but that's it.

The Spurs have had their own injuries and illnesses to plague them and game 7 is on the road. It's going to be war either way. Spurs are fighting for their lives, and have been giving up the paint like a cheap hooker. Horry doesn't do that. Hence why I appreciate a good clean body check from him.

I'm sorry, maybe if we have a star player involved in a major court case we'd be a bit more classy for you. There's always next year!

It was dirty. Just look how much weight Horry puts into that screen.
I looked worse because West was jumping as he was getting screened in the back. If his back is ed up during the game, he's risking further injury by being out there.

So the Hornets can set hard screens and throw elbows at our players' faces but we have to walk on eggs s for the Hornets?

that and you. Sucks that West got hurt but they've been pulling that kind of bull all ing series.

I hope West's aggravated sore back gets better. Horry didn't ever extend his arms but then again, he didn't let West land without contact. It was a back pick, clean and solid.

He's got time to rest and get treatment, now.

Not to get lost in revisionist history land, the Spurs had a 21 point lead when West was went out. The Spurs won by 19.

I wonder how many people here play basketball. When you are a setting a screen, you want to sturdy yourself so that you don't go flying when the unsuspecting opponent gets picked off and runs into you. West's back was to Horry so he obviously didn't see a screen coming - he was gonna run into Horry with a lot of force. Horry was anticipating that.
