Now it is before Game 5, and it seems as if every camera in Amway Arena is trained on Bryant. His eyes are hooded, his jaw is set. This is what he came for. When Bynum says of Bryant, "Only he knows what motivates him," well, that's not really true at all. Don't we all know what motivates Bryant? As Fisher says, "He wants to be the best player to have ever played this game. That's what he works at every day."

none of those Kobe quotes are damning in my opinion. Remember the context in which Kobe brought up Shaq. It's not like the cops pulled out a recorder and said ok tell us about Shaq. Kobe didn't know he was being secretly recorded. That's the key right there. So him saying some "between" us to some bull detectives isn't the same. If I was facing rape allegations (of a white chic no less) facing 20 to life on some I knew was false you better dam well believe that I would say anything to convince those cops that I was being truthful. In fact the reason I beleive Kobe... is that not only did he bring up all sorts of other bull but he also did what people typically don't do...tell about other chics he's banged. He gave the cops at least 2 names of other chics one in NYC that he was banging. So to me that was keeping it real...we all sit back and say I wouldn't have said this or that but bull your asses would have done what you needed to do...so have the hate for another topic...
I'm no expert on police work, but I'm pretty sure that anybody with a brain knows that when the cops interrogate you, they're going to keep a record of everything you say.

Kobe Bryant's career will be defined more by how he lost than how he won when it's all said and done. only true basketball fans will realize this. i think from a talent perspective, he's as good as Jordan ever was, but he was/is/always will be an immature little and mentally weak. i've said it before: when the ship is supposed to sail, he's an incredible captain, but when it's supposed to sink, he's the first one to abandon ship.
