People who say we must live to live with the pandemic, get back to work and socializing, are saying really that

Other People will sicken and die, not them, not their families.

How is Texas, Florida, and Arizona? Houston area ICUs are nearly filled, by the way. Yeah. All protests for sure.

Not sure why there is any argument here. Trying to live a fairly normal life involves covid19 risks. We just do what we can to protect ourselves. I'm not scared, just cautious.

Pretty much. And the hard right doesn't help matters with their countless conspiracy theories and BS. They interviewed a nurse in NYC and he said he could not believe that he was actually having to explain to dying people that they were actually very sick and needed treatment. He said they heard on Fox news the virus is a hoax and still believed that even as they were rapidly deteriorating.

This is ignorance. In Denmark 4.2 percent of people, 24 total, died with covid and no other comorbidities. If that holds true, and use 5 percent of global death toll, 20k deaths.

Our dear governor, Gregg Abbott, has learned that not listening to ins utional knowledge can be as lucrative as a tree falling on your legs and suing the owner of the property.

This idiot awards a contract to a private company because he has got rid of so much apolitical ins utional knowledge within his own health department. Perfectly inline with Trump. Hire bad managers, get awful spur of the moment inept private companies.

295 million dollar contract to a company that has not a clue what its doing and the head has faked a PHD.

    What’s ty about that model?
    1. Its a model, not science.
    2. Based on 1 it is guesswork
    3. It isn't based much other than opinions and assumption rather than reporting actual data, which is unfortunately how.lockdown began in first place.

Doomsday predictions combined with comparisons to 1918.

But any R0 is just an estimate and, epidemiologists stress, an imperfect one.

A paper published last year in Emerging Infectious Diseases, an academic journal, described the metric as important but warned that it can be “easily misrepresented, misinterpreted and misapplied.”

There is no consensus for how to measure it. Much of the underlying math relies, by necessity, on educated guesses and on human factors that can change unpredictably.

For this reason, most diseases are given a range, rather than a single figure. SARS is usually described as having an R0 of 2 to 5 — an enormous difference.

Tellingly, scientists are still disputing and revising estimates for diseases that have been studied for years; R0 figures for measles have ranged from 3.7 to 203.

Has absolutely nothing to do with my quote and sources.

You are a liar and wrong.
You are not to be trusted when discussing anything concerning this virus.

Because we learn more even in the future from other diseases.
    This IS what science does.
Rearranges and remodels based on current data.
You do NOT and never understood the basics of science.
You dont understand data or modeling.

You need to go read the old Testament and stick with that.
Dont talk about science, you dont get it.
