Span should come back and play with Scola that would be AWESOME.....Span needs players that can roll to the basket and Scola and Landry are great at that.

    Come on back Billy !!

Yes he is, but don't forget you guys saddled us with Jackie Butler's contract too.

May be for the Business, but about basket is one of the Biggest Mistakes of the Spurs

Whit Scola and without Yao, the Rockets remains in the Top of the West

If you are from Houston, you take Scola, for a Player who don´t want to play in the NBA, and Buttler for a Second Round Pick

    Who make the Best business?

man... why all the hating on Scola?? No, he's not one of the top-tier PF's or anything... but he is a VERY GOOD power foward in the NBA, and it's only his first season. Give the guy his props.
spurs fans are bitter that Spurs front office let him go for nothing. They are bitter and envious

After reading over some of this thread ( as well as a few others)... Spurs fans, please tell me that you do not claim Whottt as one of your own. This guy is an embarrassment. Not only are his opinions Outrageously dumb. Also, it's a shame that you guys allow somebody to type perverted crap like that on your forums. The level to which he takes his profanity makes me feel sad about the human race. It's a disgrace.

Oh, and one final thing, .. Whottt.. Scola would be the 2nd best PF on the Spurs, and is a VERY good player in this league... no matter how many curse words and perverted statements you spew.
    whott?

oh, he's just the village idiot

First Blood VI: Sly meets Scola (w/video)

Kirk Snyder played hard. He played well. He demonstrated that there is a place for him in this league.

But the impact of his performance on Wednesday will go far beyond his play on the floor.

He did something no one has done as well this season.

He hung a nickname on Luis Scola. It's perfect.

"He's like Rambo," Snyder said. "He never backs down from anything. He's so aggressive and he hustles all over the place. I think that nickname is perfect for him. They should start calling him the Rambo Man."

Not the Rambo Man, just Rambo.

    Rambo Scola.

On a night the Rockets struggled to find any intensity, Scola was all over the place. He grabbed 18 rebounds on simple hustle as the Rockets got a season-high 58, outrebounding the Timberwolves by 20. It was not artful, but he scrapped his way to 18 points. He even got three steals.

Rookie wall? The guy is crashing through it.

"He was really good pursuing the ball," Rockets coach Rick Adelman said. "They had some big guys out there that will jump right over your back if you don't put your body on them. I think Luis' activity stood up. He was active when I didn't care for it when there was 1:40 left and he fouled the guy out at halfcourt and stopped the clock. That's not what we want. He just has that enthusiasm. He sees something and he goes for it. He's been so effective for us.

"I think what's really been a telling sign for him too is that with Yao out, he has continued to produce. He has been able to get a lot of things because of Yao. But he is finding a way to be effective without Yao."

That will be key going forward. Without Yao, the Rockets need Scola to knock down the mid-range jumpers he gets, and for him and Carl Landry to finish at the rim. That will be particularly important on Sunday against the interior defense of the Spurs.

For now though, the Rockets picked up another win, reducing the regular season to its final 10 games. Games like Wednesday's can be tough in their own way, with a weak opponent coming in before three off days and the Sunday game against the Spurs and with the Dikembe Mutombo Tribute making the night feel less about the game and more about a celebration.

The Lakers dropped one of those trap games on Wednesday, losing at home against the Bobcats after the intense back-to-back against the Warriors.

The Rockets have a handful of guys who only play all out. On Wednesday, that was especially true of Scola, or make it Rambo.

I always wondered what happened to him.

I'm glad he found a home in the NBA.

But Luis Scola? He could've chosen a better alias.

The so-called spurs fans (many of them living in South America) in this thread need to go to Clutchcity.com or whatever the rockets site is, make your comments in there, and stay there. You all know who you are. Then again, if Houston traded Scola to the Knicks in the offseason, they'd become Knicks fans instantly.

The Spurs BLOW OUT the rockets as they get ready for they playoffs and all they talk about is the second best player on the floor wearing #4 today. This was a 35 minute garbage time on the floor. Perfect for padding stats.

You know, its been nine months since the trade, and all this rehashing is getting really old. Scola did not want to be here in SA and sit behind Duncan for three years when a more obvious playing opportunity came up in Houston, who were fortunate enough to do some serious botton feeding on a deal. If the Rockets were so sure of Scola's abilities, they would have offered more than they did. It's really more of an indictment on the a en of the other 28 GMs around the league that there was not more interest in Scola.

Then again, Scola and his agent by refusing to sign with the Spurs and use the "I'll go back to Tau" leverage on them poisoned any opportunity for the Spurs to get fair value for the guy.

I guess all the Argies in this thread may not even know the Spurs won today and are in a tie for first place in the Western Conference right now. I just wanted to let you guys know about that.

Maybe they are getting all stoked up for the Olympics, when their heros in white and baby blue will take the court again and they don't have to put up with the distraction of NBA basketball for a few weeks.

haha a long essay for nothing, why would the argies not know when it's scola vs ginobili today, the best player on the rockets team today vs the best player on the spurs team currently?

First of all, personally I think that the Spurs could've been the best team in the NBA this year if Scola was a spur, and basically that's the reazon why we still keep bringing the Scola subjet game by game.
It was a up,but people in SA refuses to see the truth, that's all.
Them As far as the Olympics and the Argentinian National team goes, I've got no problem separating that to the NBA.
Right now the Celtics and Pistons are the best teams in the league, but I could've been the Spurs,If it wasn't for the offseason up.
BTW,Scola never refused to play with the Spurs,ok?
What happened was that the Spurs knew that they had to draft Scola in the 1st round(not the 2nd like it happened)in order to not pay a buyout to TAU and bring Luis onboard.
I hope you get it now.
