2015 ATH KeKe Coutee (Lufkin)
![]()
A converted basketball guy, as far as I now. 6'5, 200lbs and reportedly ran 4.40, with 82 receptions, 1266 yards and 19 touchdowns in his first season of organized football.
Definitely an interesting guy!
Johnny Shaw flips to Texas
#6 for the 2015 class, more DBs there than in the 2014 class.
Committed.
That's a big one. Searels is absolutely killing it for 2015.

Per 24/7, ATH D'Onta Foreman basically has an offer but the staff wants him to speak with his parents first before any decisions are made. They weren't able to be in attendance today.
Anyone know if Davion Hall showed up at the camp yesterday?
Doubtful. He's the kind of name that gets attention as soon as he steps on campus. Haven't seen his name once.
There is a lot of new stuff to keep up with, so I'm going to post as much as I can today.
Y'all feel free to ask questions since yesterday was so crazy. Here we go...
2015 S Johnny Shaw of Center discusses his flip from TCU to Texas after yesterday's camp (24/7):
“Texas is Texas,” Shaw said. “I've always wanted to be here. That's me. It's who I am.”
“I'm just excited,” Shaw said. “This is the kind of thing that makes all the work worth with it.”
“I'm just going to keep working hard to get better,” Shaw said. “I learned some things from Coach [Duane] Akina today that I can go back and use."
2015 ATH KeKe Coutee of Lufkin talks about his commitment to Texas (24/7):
“I'm down here and I just want to make it official,” Coutee said. “This is a great opportunity I have and I'm happy to be going to Texas.”
“I just love them,” Coutee said. “Great academics, great school and I've always been a fan.”
“It's great,” Coutee said. “I'm going to try to get more people to join because Texas is a great school.”
And quotes from the third commitment of the day, 2015 OL Connor Lanfear of Buda Hays (24/7):
“You don't understand,” Lanfear said just moments after he committed. “This is the greatest day of my life.”
“Ever since I was a little kid and started playing football all I've wanted to do is play Division I college football and I hoped I'd be fortunate enough to go to a program like this,” Lanfear said. “My family and I are so thrilled and we couldn't be more excited.”
“There's so many [good things about Texas] it's tough to decide,” Lanfear said. “It's all so surreal. I had no choice but to take it.”
“Everything was top notch. Everything was impeccable,” Lanfear said. “The staff was amazing. I couldn't be more impressed.”
“I kind of had some hints along the day that I'd be offered,” Lanfear said. “At the end of camp I talked to the coaches and the offer was extended. It was something I just couldn't pass it up.”
Texas' next commit could very well be S Jason Hall of South Grand Prairie...like today or tomorrow. He's on record saying he does plan to de-commit from Nebraska since he grew up a big Texas fan. A quote from 24/7:
“Nebraska didn't do anything wrong,” Hall said. “It's just Texas. Hopefully I do it really soon.”

Per 24/7, the father of WR Garrett Gray of Marble Falls says that he wouldn't be surprised if a decision is made at some point this week. However, there is a chance they take a step back to make some more visits before a commitment.
WR Emanuel Porter of Dallas Lincoln talks about his Texas offer (24/7):
“I didn’t think I would get an offer at all,” said Porter. “I was shocked when they told me. I didn’t know what to say. It’s great to get such a big time offer from a big time program like Texas. A program like this, it was just shocking to get it."
“I’m still solid to TCU,” he added. “I don’t really know what to do now though. At the moment I’m still solid, but it’s going to give me a lot to think about, that’s for sure.”
“Everything today was great,” Porter said. “This is a great coaching staff. I’ve liked every single one I’ve talked to a lot. They’re all great coaches and great people. That’s one of the biggest reasons I like them so much. The visit was just real good. There are a lot of nice things around campus. I loved the atmosphere and everything about it.”
Quote from 2015 WR Kemah Siverand of Cypress Ridge (24/7):
“I didn't commit but I did have a great time here at Texas. I really like Coach Mack Brown and the staff here at Texas. I want to let everyone know I'm big on Texas right now. I'm going to make my decision down the road and continue to let God lead me to the right place, and I really like this facility right here.”
A new 2015 name to know is OL Trevor Elbert of Rockwall-Heath. He talks about being offered by Texas yesterday (24/7):
“I really enjoyed it,” said Elbert. “All my hard work really paid off today by getting that offer. It was a lot of fun being down here seeing everything Texas had to offer. I loved the facilities and getting to meet with the coaching staff. They’re great coaches, especially Coach (Stacy) Searels. I could really see myself playing for him.”
“You know, this is my first offer, which really means a lot to me,” said Elbert. “But right now I just want to keep my options open. I’d like to see other schools and see how they stack up against Texas. I’m going to work out with Texas Tech tomorrow, but don’t have any other visits planned at the moment.”
“I think a lot of the team and staff here,” he said. “They have a great tradition and can’t wait to see what more they have to offer. I’m looking forward to watching them this season and seeing how they perform.”

Update on 2015 CB Kris Boyd of Gilmer who also received a Texas offer yesterday (24/7):
“Man you should have seen my face,” said Boyd. “I had the biggest smile I think I ever had in my life. It was like ear to ear, seriously. I couldn’t quit smiling. When they told me I had an offer I probably smiled for like 20 minutes straight and I’ve just been happy about it all. I still can’t believe it.”
“Right now it’s Texas, then TCU and Baylor and Texas Tech,” Boyd said. “Right now TCU and Texas have offered me. But I love everything about Texas. They remind me a lot of my school back home and how they win a lot and have that desire to win. They work hard and have no days off. I also like them a lot because of Coach (Duane) Akina. He’s the best defensive backs coach there is and I love the way he coaches.”
“I want to make a decision before the season starts,” said Boyd. “Today’s offer means a lot and I’m going to go home and think hard about it. It’s something that really affects my recruitment you could say.”

The latest with 2015 QB Jarrett Stidham who was offered by both A&M and Texas this weekend (HornsNation):
“He (Major Applewhite) just said they were excited about me, liked my personality and the way I threw,” he said. “They just went ahead and offered. I was just fired up about it and told him I appreciated it and all that stuff.”
“They both have positives about them,” Stidham said of the Longhorns and Aggies. “But, like I’ve said, everything is just really wide open and I don’t want to make a commitment anytime soon. I told Applewhite that. I don’t have a favorite. Everything is wide open.”
“It is definitely cool. They (Texas) are one of the top teams in the nation year in and year out,” Stidham said. “Their tradition is crazy. Just to be recruited by them is pretty cool. Just to say that you’ve been recruited by them is awesome. But to actually say you have an offer is pretty special in itself.”
“First and foremost, I’ve got to worry about my high school team first and win a state championship,” he said. “Then I’ll worry about college. I just do my thing and don’t really worry that much about it.”
2015 OL Aaron Garza of Sherman reviews the June 9th summer camp (HornsNation):
“I definitely wanted to prove that I deserved the offer and didn’t get it based off my highlight film,” Garza said. “I wanted to show them that I do have the qualities and have what it takes to be a college football player.”
“I started out kind of slow but woke up,” he said. “My conditioning was on point so I think they saw that. Toward the end of the day I went against the big defensive tackles and did really well. In my opinion I dominated.”
“It felt like a tease,” he said. “It just sucks that I have to wait a few more years to get down there. I have to see if I can cope with it for another two years. I am definitely ready to get down here."
“I want to have the best team I can,” he said. “I am not going to push them to not come to Texas. I want to have the best team I possibly can. I want a national championship. I kind of feel like it is my responsibility to push some of the best recruits to go to Texas to improve our winning chances. I mean everyone wants what’s best for their team, right?”
Per 24/7, both DE Myles Garrett and DE Solomon Thomas are visiting Notre Dame today.
A&M offered OL Zach Ledwik and 2015 TE Jordan Davis this weekend.
