Wrong, they would have been 4th again. They would be equal in wins with Poland and they beat them.
Meh I don't know. It's true we got jobbed against Spain, but after that, it's hard to say that refs were making bad calls just against us.
The funny thing is, if the refs hadn't helped Spain beat us, I think they would've been out after the second round. Now they're going to win gold.![]()

Wow Zdovc said that he might not be the NT coach ever again. Said that it's all too exhausting, but he that he'll sleep on it.
I saw that one coming if we didn't win a medal. Not a surprise.
I think the refs were really very bad, but I don't think they were making calls against us exclusively. The only two things about the refs that I'm willing to say is that they do seem to protect Spain (and not just against SLO) and that they are ruining the game by being too whistle happy.
I'm sad about the fact the NT didn't get the medal they wanted so much, but they did us proud.
I wasn't convinced about Zdovc, but I'll freely admit I was wrong. He's a good game time coach, and that was probably the biggest deficit of his predecessor.
, if Zdovc goes I just hope Memi Becirovic will not get his job.
My bet is Mahoric.
Slovenia is a small country, you should be proud of your team.
We are.
If Zdovc doesn't want to be the NT coach again I can understand him... But if this really happens I sure hope they choose Mahorič!
And I hope they choose some Serb.
Noone is going to be chosen, Zdovc will think it over and Sesok & Jankovic will convince him to stay.
Well done to the Slovenija NT. I am very proud of them!![]()
"Iskreno povedano, ne zmorem več. Bolečine v mišicah so bile že velike. V prvi četrtini sem si zvil še drugi gleženj, tako da imam sedaj oba zatečena. Zdržal sem, ker me je gnala želja po uspehu. Škoda, ker nismo osvojili medalje. A preko določenih stvari ne moremo. Srce ni vedno dovolj." - Jaka Lakovic

Wonderful pictures! Hvala!
What did Jaka say?
"Honestly, I can't do it anymore. The pain in my muscles was already big. In the first quarter I sprained my other ankle too, so now they are both swollen. I managed through it because I was driven by desire for success. Too bad that we didn't win a medal. But we can't overcome certain things. Heart isn't always enough."
hvala for the translation.
Jaka sounds like he could really use some rest. I hope he takes a nice vacation or something.
That why he limped so bad.
When?
I saw on RTV-SLO 1, during sport news how he limped on the airport tarmac. Nothing tragic, however I've asked myself, how was he able to play if he can't walk?
So proud of the Slovenian National Team.
I hope it does not offend anyone, but some days I can not help but ponder a combined team with the best players from Slovenia, Serbia, and Croatia.
