There are two ways to look at the "he's not meeting with any more teams" thing:
1) He's decided to re-sign with Miami.
2) He already has his mind made up to go to Cleveland, and probably had his decision even before meeting with Riley. The meeting with Riley could've just been him saying good bye and thanking Riley for everything.
Well, FA can start signing their deals now.
I expect the spurs to officially resign Boris and Patty at about 3:35 am central time.
That's exactly what I think happened. Can he really Cleveland like this twice?
Bron going to the Cavs, Mavs getting better, Rox maybe adding Bosh, etc. is all great for basketball tbh.
As long as OKC doesn't improve get better, I'm all in favor of West teams getting better and new blood in the East. I hoped Fat Melo would have gone to Chicago but it's obvious that LaLa wears the pants in that relationship and that could care less about winning tbh.
Just need to hope Gasol goes to Chicago tbh. He's the missing piece for Meth.
Lance on Chicago would be pretty funny. I doubt Rose finishes the season healthy.
Rockets thinking they can win the west with no bench.![]()
This would be awesome news. Means the Bulls will be out of the running for Gasol's services.
But it still leaves N.Y. and Miami as well as Phoenix.
Long shot he stays in L.A.
If Bulls get Lance, that would mean Pau's suitors are down to LA, NY, OKC, and us. If he's trying to win, that basically narrows it down to us and OKC (assuming Melo doesn't go to LA, in which case Pau would probably end up staying).
Pau isn't coming to SA.
NY can only offer the mini MLE. Miami just used theirs on McRob and if Lebron leaves, I hardly think he signs there for a bigger salary. He didn't even list the Suns as the teams he is considering at this point. With the Pop ext, like I said, I wouldnt be surprised if he did chose the Spurs at this point.
And reports came out that after meeting with brooks, OKC was a long shot. Not surprise at all.
Oh it's definitely a long shot and I'm not getting my hopes up (at all). I wouldn't say it's a complete pipe dream, though.
I agree, I think he goes back to LA. But this puts the Spurs in the driving seat if he is willing to take the MLE.
Would be a good time to go after Troy Daniels if they like him tbh![]()
probably not.....just looking at scenarios...I think Bosh's decision to stay in Miami or leave for Houston will play into whether Melo stays in N.Y., with Pau moving to join him and James's decision to stay or leave Miami....
I wouldn't mind us going after Troy Daniels.
Btw, what's the deadline for this year?
Why do people think that Pau is more likely to go to NY if Melo stays there or to stay in LA if Melo goes there? NY can only offer the mini-MLE and LA with Melo means a huge pay cut for Pau.
It seems far more likely that he stays in LA if Melo signs elsewhere. Then LA can give him a lucrative 2 year contract (20-24M) that aligns with Kobe's deal. Both contracts fall off in 2016 so they can pursue KD and Pau becomes a trade chip to use before the 2015 trade deadline in a possible deal for Love.
