I couldn't watch the match, I'm sorry, but from what I hear you Aussies played your hearts out. I got to hand it to you, a 2-0 loss to Brasil, being Australia and all is a very good result, specially since it could have been 2-1 or even a tie I hear. Props

To Polandprzem, don't get me wrong, I enjoy seeing Brasil suffer, but I would never presume to underestimate Brasil in any way, shape or form

Damn France is old. They need some young talent. They look fatigued out there.

Barthez, Zidane, Gallas, Veira, Wiltord, Makelele have been around for ages.

    GET TREZEQUET in the game.

Some of these refs are ed in the head. Dude backs into Zidane and Zidane gets the yellow.

Henry = not clutch. Wide open chance to win but hits right to the keeper. He did the same thing in the champions league final. If you are world class, you don't miss those chances

Fricking Holland will be playing the reserves.

Van Basten said he will let the bench play in the last game vs Argentina to avoid the yellow card and probable missing 1/8 games

Brasil is a classy team and seem to respect their opponents, no matter which team they play. That classiness seems in direct contrast with some of the other South American squads (eg Uruguay with Recoba's divine right comment - "we have a divine right to play in the World cup" i wonder if he is enjoying fishing right now

It has also been in contrast with some Aussie fans who think they own the world after a good 3-1 showing. "Bring on, Brazil." It was only right to have those comments thwarted with a decent 2-0 spanking the Brazilians put on.

That said, Australia still has a great chance of advancing

Korea's fans are nuts, and their team got a lot better as the match went on. But France was robbed.

spanking?!!? did u watch the game??

I am proud of how the aussies played and it was two goals (one just after half time after a lapse in cocentration and one from a lucky bounce in the 90th minute) that seperated the teams. Brazil was less than impressive, they wont win the world cup if they dont play much better.

and of course we will say 'Bring on Brazil'. Only aussies understand the aussie sense of humour. People were saying "bring on brazil' with tongue in cheek, it was only half serious. Afterall, people around here and around the world were talking about the 4-0 and worse thrashing that Brazil would give the aussies g and it turned out nothing like that.

    yeah,

How can you say they were spanked. Possesion was relatively even, Brazil certainly didnt dominate they play. Kewell should have scored... I'll put it down to him just having entered the game but he had an open goal. Bresciano also had a one on one with the goalie but tried to do to much. Then Kewell had another one go high from a long way out.

Australia had a lot of oportunuties and probably should have capitalized, Brazil is lucky to pull out the win they did.

Australia played tough, and they played the full 90 minutes attacking till the end. I was extremely happy and proud with our effort: aussie battlers, baby!

Well you think confident now before the Croatia battle ?!

Cause the Australia looks realy fabulous giving another prooof that Gus Hiddink is a genius. And you are asking why our coach must leave

I'm confident Australia will play with the same fire and heart they have showed in the leadup and throughout this tornament. How many teams is this that Hiddink has turned into legitimate teams? He certainly knows what he is doing.

Australia has already exceeded expectations: were playing with the houses money.

Australia definitely did NOT get spanked by Brazil, it was one of the more even matches, and it could have gone either way.
