South Korea has been extremely open open about their COVID cases, which is one of the reasons they have so few deaths. And they haven't had to lock their country down like we did since they started ramping up testing right away while our president called it a Democratic hoax and pretended it was 15 and would soon drop to zero. Trump owns both the 36,000 deaths from his two months of inaction as well as the new great depression he has driven us into from the lockdowns necessary after he did nothing to try to nip this early on with mass testing and contact tracing.

The interesting thing about covid mortality rates is that they keep going up for almost all countries.

Last week, Germany's rate was about .5% -- now it is 2.07%.

Last week the US was about 1.5% -- now it is 3.40%.

Usually, those rates would go down over time because testing rates would go up and nonlethal cases would start to dominate the overall statistics.

With covid, the mortality rates keep going up, even in countries with good health care like the US and Germany.

For other countries, the mortality rates are much higher, i.e., Italy 12.67%, Spain 10.00%, France 9.62%, UK 11.69%, Netherlands 11.01%.

The US mortality rate is now up to 5.18% (over fifty times more lethal than common flu's 0.1%).

The US will have over 700,000 confirmed cases before this day is done. The next highest country has less than 200,000.

We also have the most fatalities by more than 50% above Italy, the next highest.

If present trends continue, we may eventually have more deaths than all of the other countries in the world combined.

How any rational person could consider the US response to this plague a success is beyond me.

We had 9.45x as many people die just yesterday as South Korea has had the entire time since they had their first identified SARSCov2 case (the same day ours was). Our population is only 6.4x as high as theirs. Our per capita deaths are 24.5 higher and it will only get worse and worse as we add 2000 dead per day for the next few days.
