Overplotted and unlikely, but still somewhat entertaining. Great cast, too bad the material is 2nd rate. Maybe Stallone's best acting job?

Alec Guinness played Smiley previously in a BBC version of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Le Carre is pretty much the premier cold war spy author, unique in that most of his novels feature internal conflict rather than external i.e. 007.

I was aware of the Guinness & the BBC version, that's why I made the comment about Oldman doing an AG impression. Someday I'd like to sit down and watch the original series. The movie was meh, IMO.

I just watched Skyfall as well. Enjoyed it. It and Casino Royale have really rejuvenated the series. Solace sucked but it's already forgotten.

I was surprised to hear the rumors about Craig signing on for 5 more bond movies.

I'm a big fan of the book and loved the movie, it was pretty faithful except for them making berbatch's character gay. I did not understand that at all, it muddled the other affair in it imo.

The Jackal (1997) - 7/10. It was a free on-demand movie and I hadn't seen it in over 10 years--but this is an underrated action flick imo

Sound City. 10/10. Awesome movie with a lot of music history and artists from different genres. I don't buy into the anti-digital dogma that they were preaching. Kinda hard to really say that with Trent in the movie.

As a huge horror movie fan I'm not sure how this movie had always been off my radar. If it weren't Mouse's sig I'm not sure I ever would have watched it.
