their signings were moronic... picking up Lin's deal for a first was solid though. Hill/Young were deals they shouldn't have gone for
They painted themeselves into a corner by signing all those deals today

Lin was legit since they have a ty chance of getting a pick next year but yeah Hill/Young for the amounts and so soon? ty deals
lol Pau Gasol meets with Scott Brooks and immediately they are removed from the Pau Gasol sweepstakes. Scott Brooks the gift that keeps on giving lol
Pau asked him about cultural diversity and Brooks thought that was a restaurant.. "Yeah, we can get you reservations"
$9M for Hill basically assured no S&T return for Pau.Lakers
I believe diversity is an old wooden ship from the Civil War.

yeah especially for a guy they didn't think could start and play brig minutes last season
Yeah Rockets wife is def a lil fire cracker.
Can you imagine Pau house shopping in OKC, and walks down to his basement..

I'm great with the choices. I'd enjoy watching Gasol on the Bulls and the East needs good teams. He doesn't go to OKC. And he may still come to us.
the Stretch Provision allows them to waive his $9.7 million salary and break it up over 3 seasons ($3.23 per season) at the moment (not sure about their cap holds but thats fairly easy to maneuver ) but they have $43.3 million including Lin, if they use the provision it would be about $39.7 million if my understanding about the provision is correct. Also Randle isn't included because he hasn't signed his contract (should be $3.0 million). That would be $48.5 million for Kobe, Lin, Nashs (waived), Randle, Bonner, Ayers, and Sacre.
EDIT: I didn't hear about them resigning Hill & Swaggy ( i'm assuming that they' will make $14.3 million next season) that would put the Lakers up to $62.8 million for 8 players. So theoretically it could be done.

Realtor: "Surprise, it's a reacreation of Breaking Bad"..
If he goes East I'm fine. Coming to the Spurs would just make it that much better. I've always liked Pau as a player and person. He'd be a good fit on this team.
Randle still has his cap hold due to being a first-rounder.
Kobe 24.5
Lin 8.3
Hill 9
Young 5.3
Randle ~2
before you even count Nash they're at about 50 tbh
Would the S&T scenario be a possibility though or would the Spurs just have the MLE for him? S&Ting Bonner on a 3 year deal starting at $4 million ( with an team option for the second and partially guaranteed for the 3rd ,maybe) and Ayers.
To the people saying that a sign-and-trade for the Bulls with the Lakers is no longer possible: If that's the case, why hasn't Gasol committed to the Spurs yet? What's the hold-up?
It's 7 in cali right now, he's in for the night. He'll announce it tomorrow
I ordered chicken fried rice for dinner tonight, just finished. Drinking a chianti....
More like the rest of the league.

If I'm Pau Gasol, I sign w/ Spurs. He loves to play basketball the right way, and THEY DO. Thunder would drive him nuts.
I was away from the computer for most of the day. I just saw Swaggy and Hills contracts (guesstimating $14.3 salary combined for them next season) plus Randles Cap Hold (Chinook with the correction) thats $5.7 until the sign him.
that's $65.4 for 8 players, $62.7 with the Randle rookie scale deal (just under the cap). They could fill out the rest with scrubs and get back after it next season.
If they take Boozer and ,say, Tony Snell back for Gasol that's $18.2 in incoming salary. Gasol would to get his initial asking price ($10-12 million) but L.A would be at $75 million for 8 players.
doesn't make a ton of sense to take back Boozer straight up without a young prospect or a 1st rounder. They'd differentially be farther over the cap with the Boozer deal and the additional asset wouldn't be worth it for a team that is likely to stink either way.
