They don't want him to be traded, unless to a team they intend him to re-sign with. They're guaranteed to lose $40 mil if traded somewhere else and seeing how upset they were about that $20 mil Nike offer, twice that much must hurt.

Also seeing what has happened to Cousins should be really dreadful for the group.

Spurs should wait it out and tell him to report to training camp, as they appear to be doing.

The cousins deal should be scary to him. I haven't been convinced he's pain free (or at least he wasn't during the season.)

It's still possible to get a deal done with him.

This is no doubt correct. If he's an investor in Impact Sports, the only way he really makes back money is if Kawgi starts taking in big endorsement contracts. The player is going to reap most of the rewards from a team contract, with the average agent only pulling in between 4-10% of the player's contract salary. Endorsement deals are different and typically start in the 15-20% range and can go up to the 40-50% depending on appearances etc.

WTF? That thinking is just dumb. 10% of 220,000,000 is 22mills. Add to that the “small” endorsements money.

Spurs historically never get marquee free agents to come to SA. I guess you can throw in LMA but that's a once in a lifetime type of deal anyways but prior to LMA Spurs always got vets at the end of their career or young unproven players. That's the formula the Spurs have always stuck to and I don't see that changing even with this Kawhi situation. Pretty stupid to use the FA threat on the Spurs. That crap only works on LA or NYC since that's what both of those organizations rely on to build their teams.

Yeah LA is just being greedy, but the thing is they can, Kawhi's mind won't be changed he's not like PG. Kawhi & his buddies in the media have screwed over the Spurs like no other.

Spurs should get their docs to sue for libel and depose her as to her source on this. It really is libel to a doctor in their position to be accused of misdiagnosing a player such as Kawhi.

The Spurs need to think about changing their formula. Getting Duncan and then finding HOF gems in Manu and Parker isn't repeatable. IMO.
