But he is great to gather possession and then find the runner IN STRIDE. So critical to Spurs. I just did not know if it would transfer to England. Kane can clog things if he does not know when to step back to midfield to be a post for gathering the ball and starting an attack.

So far pretty much all according to what I expected. The real WC is about to start. Whomever comes out of the France - England match up should be considered the favorite.

Used to be England had precise wingers throwing high passes, while being marked, in the central area for headers, for players that could elevate a lot, now it’s ultra fast extremes, accompanied by the center forward and midfielder with great positioning for a solo unchallenged shot vs the goal keeper. Plus changes at half time to keep the up tempo all game and try force some GK or backs errors on high pressure situations.
It’s very effective if the other teams center backs or defensive midfielder are slow reacting and half sleepy. Time will tell how effective is that with much better defensive teams.
It seems England is effective, Kane and Fodden are elite, but they can’t play pass it to MBappé, Ronaldo or Messi marked by two to see seconds later the goal enter by the square.
