I had been thinking the staff may feel he's a lock to Tennessee, but they're too aggressive to let something like that stop them.

Update on five-star TE Mark Bowman from one of 247's national guys who covers the West Coast:

"All eyes are pointing towards Texas with Mark Bowman," Huffman said, via the "Ultimate College Football Show," on Wednesday. "I was at Mater Dei on Monday morning, and Texas co-DC Johnny Nansen, who has recruited the West Coast for Texas, Arizona, USC, UCLA and Washington, was there at 7:00 a.m. Granted, he is the co-DC, not the tight ends coach. However, you can bet that, with his connections to Southern California, he wanted to make sure that he got that face time with Bowman."

"Texas is there," Huffman said. "Georgia has been factoring his recruitment for a long time. USC is also continuing to recruit him. USC has had some success in the last couple of months with Mater Dei. The Trojans are continuing to push for Mark Bowman. You can't ignore what they do, especially with Southern California. But right now, Texas could be the team to beat for Bowman. They already have a Mater Dei tight end on the roster right now in Spencer Shannon, who Bowman replaced."
