Precisely why Kirilenko is a fit. His ability to defend small ball and wings plays better with the biggest current threats to the Spurs.
Sure, Millsap is better at guarding legit 4s - but post defense isn't his biggest strength to begin with. And there are only a handful of "big teams" across the league to contend with - and the Spurs have already figured them out with the Duncan/Splitter starting lineup. Diaw holds up okay in the post & Baynes is there I.C.E.
But having another big wing with perimeter skills to go up against the Miami, OKC, & GSWs of the league is a bigger need with the way the roster is currently constructed. Especially when you consider that Kawhi is our only legit 3, and he's had to deal with some injuries already in his young career.
