Oh yeah, completely forgot about the meeting with the Rockets this morning (he mentioned he was impressed).
It'd be nice to have all the meetings over with today so we know something soon, but I'm obviously speaking for my own urge to know lol.

If LMA signs with the rockets and the Spurs lose Splitter for no reason.
Pop and r.c had to have been at least 95% sure he was coming since they traded splitter. LA having second thoughts. Ugh, now we play waiting game
A near-term decision would be helpful, but with the cap space situation worked out and Green back in the fold, the Spurs can be a bit more patient with this, I think.
It's likely those things were always going to work out and the Spurs would be able to just wait for the time that Aldridge needs, but all is not lost now if he takes a couple of days and then chooses to go elsewhere.
Sam Amick says LaMarcus Aldridge was intrigued by the Suns offer, playing alongside Tyson Chandler
they would get Monroe...
Hey, this is his last max contract. There's absolutely no reason to rush if I'm LMA. Especially if I've already picked the Spurs in my mind - they've made the roster moves they're going to make to acquire me already. The slower it goes, the better chances for the Spurs if you ask me (me meaning z0sa again now lol).
Portland wants to pair Aidridge & Monroe. Aldridge hates to play center. Houston has Coward too.
Cuz chandler plays C & LMA doesnt!
Dealing Splitter only makes sense if something is lined up, ie Monroe, as in he agreed to offer contingent on Spurs not signing Aldridge. Of course, if you had deal lined up with Hawks, why not wait until you get commitment from one of your targets before accepting?
If Aldridge comes on board, does that mean Timmy playing C, or Timmy coming off the bench and the Spurs signing an effective FA C for a low cost?
Do we have details on Splitter trade yet? Strange if not.
Even worse, Portland gets Monroe and Aldridge stay there.
Means it's most likely either a future draft pick, or one of the international players whose rights they have.
I highly highly doubt Pop and the FO trade Tiago without some sort of contingency with Monroe or another card up their sleeves.
Someone tweeted right now that there were no current Hawks sent back to the Spurs. That's really all I've seen.
Is Monroe really an upgrade over Splitter though? Especially if he costs more?
I've seen RC and Pop do some questionable things, but dumping a NBA experienced starting quality big for cap room + pick without any plan would be surprising.
Was he floored that they have D12, Smith, and Dorsey, Capella. Hack a whoever? I guess free throws are not in the analytic equations. I feel like Morey uses his MIT intellect to impress people but it's all just smoke and mirrors...
Unless Bud is agreeing to trade different things depending upon who the Spurs sign/don't sign. I don't think there's a rule specifically forbidding that.
