Warriors not giving up
We really need Cousins to off set Jacob lack of offense, we not always could survive playing 4 on 5 on offense...
Warriors not giving up
Can confirm. Cauley-Stein will sign for something slightly above the minimum salary, a source says.
Golden State was $7M below the tax apron with five roster spots to fill. Before the signing, if GSW filled out the team with 3 minimums and both second round picks, the team would have been $392K below the apron.
WCS is an ok pickup for GS. Dude needs to fire his agent if he signed for the minimum tho. This Warriors team will be lucky to win a series next year
And the Warriors are right back into le contention. *sigh*
Yup clippers are obvioulsy falling out of playoffs imo without kawhi
So if Klay returns healthy sometime in March they have
Curry
Russell
Klay
Raymond
WCS
Bench:Cook,Looney
They are still contenders...
Several takes on no market for big man in the NBA. Come on, Cousins/Aldridge could set the clock back to big men game. Murray/White covering the ball, Carroll the 3? Dang, nobody’s gonna score.
Murray- Forbes- DD- LMA- Cousins
White- LW- Bertans/Carrol- Gay/Carrol- Poetl
Close with
Murray- White- DD- LMA- Cousins
That is a pretty solid rotation imo
Green/Paschall
Thompson/Robinson/McKinnie
Cauley-Stein/Looney/Jones
Russell/Evans/Poole
Curry
Cook is an RFA, while Livingston is partially guaranteed and supposedly likely to be waived and retire.
With basically only the minimum to offer to fill out their roster, even if S bag signs with the Clippers and the league is as wide open as it gets, that's not a contender.
Even if Thompson returns, he's not going to be 100% both in terms of level of play or minutes. Meanwhile, the defense has been gutted and the depth is even worse.
Contenders?? If you’re not 1-4 in the standings then you’re not a contender
How the did they sign him? Another S&T? I don't think this puts them back in contention but still, unless it's a S&T that's some shady .
Funny things happen in the Bay area...
Posters on here love to overreact. Klay will be out for a year with the ACL tear. So they lose KD and replace him with D'Angelo Russel and WCS and ST thinks they're back in the hunt.not really that much different than replacing Leonard with Derozan and Poeltl
I said IF Klay returns healthy tho... And i meant the if for both if he returns and if he's healthy.
And i think they're good on paper tbh. They are obviously not the overwhelming favorite to win it all but what's the case for POR/HOU/UTA/OKC over that roster?
I dunno what Nephew will do so i don't know which one of LAL or LAC is in the upper tier of contenders. And i think the Nuggets will be pretty good this season-just like last season, and they'll play better in the POs.
So LAC or LAL,Denver,GSW.(That's a combination of regular season seeding and playoff strength cause GSW is fighting for 5-8 without Klay)
Of course he'll be healthy if he returns, otherwise they'll sit him out the entire season. But there's nothing they can do that would literally make him back to his peak form by February/March.
You're underestimating the past 5 years of mileage and the toll its inevitably taken physically/mentally on the big 3. They went from probably expecting to have as good a chance as anyone for the foreseeable future when Durant left to now abruptly realizing it'll be a grind just to make the playoffs.
The case is those teams (take out the Thunder and add the Nuggets) are deeper and fresher, both physically and mentally. They also know this is their chance to breakthrough (unless S bag signs with the Lakers). The Warriors can't manufacture that type of desperation and urgency.
So you see them having an 03 Lakers kind of season? No motivation/energy/urgency,underperforming in the regular season and bad seeding.
Yeah,i can see that.My point is IF Klay Thompson returns in March and finds his rythm till the Playoffs they are gonna be a really dangerous team.As in fighting for the WCF kind of team.Ergo,a contender.
(And even the 03 Lakers had the GOAT knock them out, they didn't just give up...)
It’s just a matter of time before Curry tears something hate to see that but it will happen sooner then latter. He is going to feel he has to carry the team and will push to hard and that’s when injuries happen.
If we don't get Cousins this off season is terrible!
They just (mostly) had their '03 Lakers season. I think this could be more like the '15 Spurs and I wouldn't entirely rule out the '15 Thunder (though they're not as decimated by injury as them).
Again, whether he returns and finds his rhythm or not, his minutes will be managed and making the conference finals doesn't automatically make one a contender. Look no further than the '19 Trail Blazers.
Does moving belli out give us more cap space to get him?
Hopefully, you're right. And hopefully, they play it safe and shut Klay down completely for 2020 if their team is not showing compe iveness.
That would mean a higher seeding for us![]()
(If they don't play it safe,i still don't want them in our bracket)
